No Place Like Home # 14
There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort. ~ Jane Austen
Hello dear friends and welcome to No Place Like Home!
We had another snow storm the other day so I made some 'storm cookies.' These being Spider Cookies. Some folks may call them chocolate macaroons but they're not as chewy as a macaroon. You may check out my recipe here.
We just finished painting our kitchen-dining rooms on the weekend. It's really good to have that job done. Got some spring cleaning done along with it.
Last Friday as I mentioned earlier in my post, we had another snow storm and I was dreaming about summertime. I set out a tea in pink using my summery teacups, pink teapot, and pink tulips. We munched on spider cookies too.
More snow is on the way including blizzard warnings. My imagination helps to whisk me away from it all. You may check out that post here.
Now on to my features. You all share so many wonderful ideas and recipes each week. You really are a talented group of ladies and I am grateful for your participation.
Housekeeping Tips
Mrs T @ Across My Kitchen Table shared a fabulous tea rack which her hubby made for her kitchen. Every tea lover should have one of these!

Congratulations ladies!

Lord, this humble house we'd keep
Sweet with play and calm with sleep.
Help us so that we may give
Beauty to the lives we live.
Let Thy love and let Thy grace
Shine upon our dwelling place. - Edgar A. Guest

Thank you for sharing todays link party, dear Sandi !
Greetings from Germany
Oh Sandi, thank you so very much for honoring me by featuring my linzer cookies, among all the other lovely features. Your spider cookies are very similar to ones that I make, but mine have peanut butter in them and not coconut. I know I would LOVE your yummy version, because I do love coconut.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting your party and I love the poem by Edgar A. Guest...so sweet! I may have to copy that for my family members. xo
Oh what a sweet surprise to find my feminine tablescape feature here today. I am very thankful for the honor Sandi. More snow your way!!! Keep warm and cozy indoors . We ae expecting a bit of snow too but nothing to be worried about.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting your lovely party each week and Happy Valentine's.
Janet
I'm sorry about the blizzard warnings, brrr!! Your new paint job, and haircut are both beautiful. It feels so good to get things spruced up. I am on another organizing/decluttering spree. A good job when it's cold outside!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved that Jane Austen quote -- it fits me to a "T"!
Thanks for hosting, Sandi, and stay warm up there! xo Deborah

ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine Week, Sandi! I've been enjoying reading the Valentine-inspired posts this month. Thank you for hosting and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi! Wow, I hadn't even realized it had been a month since I last linked something. Oops! It seems like time just gets away sometimes :(. Anyway, very pretty pink tea--I saw you snuck in your Summer teacup! I can see you are ready for warmer weather. Good luck with all the snow :(. We had a blizzard last month...ugh.
ReplyDeleteYou do such a fine job of curating an intriguing and varied list of blog posts, and many are blogs I've never heard of before. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is the tea party - and then the recipes. We are in for one more day of 60 degrees and sunshine - and then lots of rain - I might need to do some baking too.
ReplyDeleteAnother great tea party. Thanks for being such a great hostess. I KNOW you are enjoying the new feeling you get with freshly painted rooms!!
ReplyDeleteI love your pink tea things. We are getting snow today, and I've been dreaming of spring, too. I shared my blue and white tea things today!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi, Thanks for coming by my CPR post. I'm sorry I didn't link your party. God just spoke to me when I was writing to link to as many parties as I could. I'll be putting a list on my sidebar today. I'd love to come over and link a post next week. I'll be having a Valentines Dinner on Saturday. Should be a fun post. Have a great party.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi. You have chosen some great features and the color in your kitchen looks very soft and pretty. I bet you are glad that job is done..Thanks for hosting..Happy Tuesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that tea rack! Great idea! Thank you for the feature Sandi. We too have gotten a little snow and it's cold but, not a blizzard. Hope you stay warm! Have a lovely Valentine's Day weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteOh so many have linked up today! Wow! I am late because I had a fever and aches this morning and had trouble functioning. I am feeling a little better so here I am. I wanted to tell you that I would love it if you could contact me if you come to the Lower Mainland to see your son. I told hubby and he said it would be so nice to meet you too. Please do let me know if you are visiting soon and we can have some tea in the R.A. Bridesmaid coffee pot and teacups. Lol. My e-mail is k.henriksen@live.ca. I do love your pretty teacups today and that teapot is so dear too. Your painting is so fresh and clean and that shelf is just my taste. Mr. Chintz Cottage is handsome too! Your haircut is very pretty, Sandi - I like the colour and length. I often put mine up in a scrunchy to get it off of my neck. Thank you for hosting such a sweet party today! Blessings, Karen
I would love to be home today making cookies while it's snowing outside
ReplyDeleteIt is very cold here however no snow today
Thanks for the party sweet friend. I've got a bit of spring fever myself!

Jann
All such wonderful pieces of china Sandy, I hope you all stay safe and warms prayers through the storms. Happy Friday with love Janice
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi! So many talented bloggers we have! Thank you so much for popping in to see me and congrats on your new mixer. I just used a cheap little hand mixer til it bit the dust and thought 'I need a better mixer' and hinted to my husband a few years ago! Hope you have a nice Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
