Spiritual Sundays

Hello my dear friends; it is Spiritual Sundays again. This week has really rolled by quickly. The lazy, hazy days of summer are winding down and our beach weather is just about over for another season. Unfortunately, we have Hurricane Bill coming our way and so I thought I had better get my post up.
They are talking power outages and damage due to this storm. The last bad one we had was in 2003 when we were without power for three days. So, I'm trying to get prepared by posting this early. If we lose our power, I will not be able to visit you until later in the week.
Please pray that our little Island will not sustain any damage this time around. I have family in other parts of the Maritimes too so I am concerned for them also. My friend Carolyn at Aiken House and Gardens has a beautiful property here on PEI and I would hate to see any damage come upon them.

Today I would like to share from the devotional, Our Daily Bread.

LIKE A DIAMOND IN THE SKY
Astronomers discovered a star in the sky that has cooled and compressed into a giant diamond. The largest rough gem-quality diamond ever found on Earth is the Cullinan Diamond - at over 3,100 carats. So how many carats are in the cosmic diamond? - 10 billion trillion trillion carats!

In our world, diamonds are prized for their rarity, beauty, and durability, and we often hear it said, "Diamonds are forever." But God isn't enamoured with diamonds. To Him there is something far more precious.

Thousands of years ago, David marveled at the great value God had set on human beings: "What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honour?" PSALMS 8:4-5

In fact, God placed such a high value on us that it cost Him dearly to buy our redemption. The purchase price was the precious blood of his Son, Jesus Christ {1 Peter 1:18-19}.

If God places such a high value on us, we should also place a high value on the people He has brought into our lives. Bring them before the Lord in prayer. Ask him to show you how each is more priceless than the most costly jewel in the universe. - Dennis Fisher

WE ARE MORE PRECIOUS TO JESUS THAN THE COSTLIEST DIAMOND.

Please pray for:
*Amy- Debbie's daughter who has cancer
*My mother who is recuperating from surgery.
*Jim- my cousin's husband who has cancer.
* Prince Edward Island- that the hurricane will be downgraded and doesn't do significant damage to life or property.

Pink Saturday

Good morning pinkies! Happy Pink Saturday to you all. Please visit our wonderful hostess Beverly and all her pink participants by clicking on the link http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ or the Pink Saturday button on my sidebar.

Today I have a couple treasures to share with you.

A little cranberry basket which my sweet hubby gifted me with one day. I just love the colour of this glass!

Then I have this vintage plate made by Johnson Bros. which I got on eBay several years ago. I love the shape of the plate and the fruit which adorns the plate is so charming. Someday I would like to get three more in the colours of soft blue, green, and yellow. Thanks for stopping by and please check out all the other pinkies this weekend. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
