Spiritual Sundays

Welcome to Spiritual Sundays!
The other day I read an interesting little devotional from Our Daily Bread and since not every one reads this little book, I thought I would share these thoughts with you today.
I always appreciate the wisdom God imparts unto our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord!
"I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken." - Psalm 37:25

LAND OF ETERNAL SPRING

The former president of Columbia Bible College in South Carolina, J. Robertson McQuilkin, pointed out that God has a wise purpose in letting us grow old and weak:

"I think God has planned the strength and beauty of youth to be physical. But the strength and beauty of age is spiritual. We gradually lose the strength and beauty that is temporary so we'll be sure to concentrate on the strength and beauty which is forever. And so we'll be eager to leave the temporary, deteriorating part of us and be truly homesick for our eternal home. If we stayed young and strong and beautiful, we might never want to leave."

When we are young, happily occupied with all our relationships and activities, we may not long for our celestial Home. But as time passes, we may find ourselves without family and friends, afflicted with dim vision and hearing difficulties, no longer able to relish food, or troubled by sleeplessness.

Here's the advice I give myself: Be grateful that, as the apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 6:17, "God.....gives us richly all things to enjoy" in life's summer and autumn. And rejoice too that with the onset of life's winter we can anticipate that we'll soon be living in the land of eternal spring. - Vernon Grounds

THE PROMISE OF HEAVEN IS OUR ETERNAL HOPE.

There's a land that is fairer than day,

And by faith we can see it afar;

For the Father waits over the way,

To prepare us a dwelling-place there. - Bennett

Pink Saturday~ It's Lilac Time!

Welcome to Pink Saturday with Beverly and all those of us who love the colour pink. We are a unique bunch who can't seem to get enough of this luscious colour and that is one of the many reasons why we gather on Pink Saturday to show off our pink wares.

You know, it is a well known fact that the colour pink is the colour of universal love! It is a quiet colour and lovers of beauty favour pink.
It is the softer and sweeter side of red, and is often referred to as the 'sugar and spice and everything nice' colour!
Pink provides feelings of caring, acceptance, tenderness, self-worth and love. Put some pink in your life when you want:
Calm feelings, to neutralize disorder, relaxation, acceptance, and contentment.
It is a peaceful colour besides being just plain pretty! See how pretty this piece of pink quartz is!And now, on to my pinks. The lilacs are out in full bloom here on the Island and my sweet hubby brought me a bouquet of them. I couldn't think of a prettier container to put them in than my Rose Chintz milk jug. I never tire of this pattern! I think the jug is perfect with its pink roses and tiny blue flowers to showcase these romantic blooms. Don't you agree?I love how the sweet fragrance of lilacs fills the house! Would you care to sit and join me for a cup of tea and fill your senses with the scent of lilacs before we go any further?Yesterday, Hubby and I went shopping and I picked up a couple of pink things. This pink tote, I plan to use for storing some of my craft supplies. It is perfect in pink and transparent as well which makes seeing what's inside easier. Lastly, I saw these darling flip-flops and just had to have them! What could be prettier on the tootsies, fresh from the shower or bubble bath, than these pink sparkly flip-flops adorned with gorgeous sequins?

Now, why not skedaddle on over to Beverly's How Sweet the Sound and make your rounds of all the pinkness being offered out there today in Blogland? Just click on the link http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ or the Pink Saturday button on my sidebar. Have a wonderful pink day everyone!
