A New Tea for Tea Time Tuesday

A friend is one of the nicest things you can have and one of the best things you can be.~ Author unknown

Welcome, friends, to another Tea Time!

I have set my tea out on the coffee table which is covered with one of my favourite tablecloths.

Tea is instant wisdom, just add water. ~ Astrid Alauda

About a month ago, I won a Tea Giveaway from Marilyn at Delights of the Heart. She sent me two packets of Teavivre tea, a golden tip black tea, Dragon Well Long Jing green tea, as well as a cute book mark and card. Thank you Marilyn.

My tea today is one which Marilyn sent me, Teavivre's Yun Nan Dian Hong, golden tip black tea.  Won't you join me for a cup?

The liquid gold is poured into my cup, through the strainer, and the tea is delicious!

Dian Hong black tea, also known as Yunnan black tea, is one of China's most famous black teas. It has lots of orange pekoe in the dried tea, and brews into a wonderful golden coloured tea with a very rich taste and aroma.

My teapot is Royal Elfreda which I found at our Anne of Green Gables Store several years ago.

The posies appear to be peonies although they could also be roses.

The teacup is Chantilly Lace by Skye McGhie.

Tea purifies spirit, removes anxiety and nervousness, brings ease and comfort, and is conducive to meditation.~ Author unknown

The cup and saucer sit on a vintage Johnson Bros. plate and the silver tea spoon is also vintage. It is  Evening Star by Oneida which is one piece of a set which my mother passed down to me.

Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.

Someone very dear to me is celebrating a birthday today and I want to send my heart felt wishes her way. She always reads my blog so I know she will see this.

Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.~ Jeremiah 17:7

Happy Birthday Auntie P! You are such a warm and generous lady who is much admired and loved a lot! You are not only my aunt but my very dear friend. Have a delightful day and I know Uncle Doug will take great pleasure in spoiling you! God bless you and enjoy your special day!

Next week, March 17th, is my Celebrate Spring ~ "A Bird Lover's Tea" party.

One of the many things I love about springtime is the return of the song birds so I am doing a Bird Lover's Tea this year. Let's bring out our little feathered friends adorning teacups, teapots, mugs, plates, bird houses/bird nests, ornaments, etc. Anything and everything with a birdie motif would be lovely.

Or perhaps you would prefer to do a green themed tea for St. Patrick's Day. That would be lovely too. To make it really fun, why not combine the two. Whatever strikes your fancy is welcome!

I am so happy when you join me for Tea Time and I hope you have enjoyed your visit here. Do you have a pretty teacup, teapot, coffee cup, or tablescape you would like to share? Perhaps a trip to a favourite Tea Room? Then please do share it with us. I wish you all a beautiful day!

Happiness is an inside job! ~ Seen displayed on a local church sign.

  5. Thanks, Sandi!
Love your post. That is a gorgeous teapot and my first thought was peonies. Just beautiful! Now if I could get my act together I would love joining you next Tuesday for tea time with birds. I probably have more nests and houses than actual birds on things. Sounds like a fun choice. Happy Birthday to your aunt. So glad you have a special aunt in your life. Happy tea time.

  31. Hello Sandi and I see you are my first "linker" if that is such a thing! I am a bit late as something wasn't quite right with the computer and we took the tower in. You know, all these other browsers are always trying to hijack the direction. It never seems to end!
Your posting is lovely and all your pretty table decorations and china. I think pink is WONDERFUL so your posting is lovely!

  42. Hi Sandi. I missed our TT but thought of everyone and wanted to pop in and catch up. I love that tea cup. It reminds me of my British grandmother's ribbon plates. It's very elegant. Next week I'm in the silversmithing studio again on Tuesday finishing up the lost wax projects but will try my best to join in the birdie tea. :)
