HOME

"Every house where love abides
and friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest." ~ Henry Van Dyke

Hello dear friends and welcome to my HOME ~

HOME is a place where one can take refuge from the storms of life; all kinds of storms. For me right now, my HOME is a place where I can retreat and try to recover from my ailments.

I regret that I didn't get around for all my visits at my last HOME party. As some of you may know, I have been nursing a slipped disk as well as the flu. I have also been on some rather potent meds for my back so last week, I spent resting and trying to get well. This week I have seen some improvement but my back has a long way to go. We are still waiting to get the results of the MRI I had the other day. I am usuing a walker to get around and Hubby is doing all the housework as well as the cooking. He's a busy guy because he works at a full time job too.

Since I haven't been out and about and my life has been limited to my HOME, I decided to share some posies with you. Flowers just naturally bring a smile to my face and nothing says Spring like tulips.

I love tulips!

My son brought me a bouquet of beautiful white tulips but alas, I was too ill to get a picture of them.

Another beautiful bouquet in a Rose Chintz pitcher.

I usually don't get too personal on here but I thought I should let you all know how it has been with me lately. The past few weeks have been a bit of a nightmare and I am so glad to have flowers and hot cups of tea to sip on. I am thankful to have the dearest person on earth caring for my needs as he does his best to make me comfortable. Yes, even in the midst of this particular storm, I am thankful for my many blessings. I am HOME.

HOME is where your story begins. ~ Unknown

  1. Hi Sandi,
Hope you are getting better. Thank you for hosting. Sandi, I suffer from this back condition also. I have injured it over and over again in the last 15 years. I go to the chiropractor and they use traction, pull the spine, and the disc heals. In 7-10 days I am right as rain, no surgery. I didn't use to injure it so much but, now with babysitting very large babies it is frequent. Hope you are well soon.

  2. Dear Sandi, I'm so sorry you are going through all of this, but, believe me, I know how lucky and grateful you are to have such a caring and loving husband. When I was going through a few health issues sometime ago, my hubby was the same way. I don't have to tell you how important it is. Thank you for hosting your lovely party and the flowers are so beautiful and cheer everything up. We all need that every once in awhile..Keep improving..Judy

  3. Aahh dear lady,

My heart goes out to you dear Sandi! Life can be most excruciatingly painful and trying at times. You are so precious to all of us, we wish you a full recovery in time as you heal, yet most of all we lift you up to the Lord in prayer.

~ Ephesians 3:20 says this best:..."Now now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory."...(The rest of that quote is found in that beautiful passage of scripture Sandi.

What lovely bouquets and so kind of your hardworking husband to help you will all of the help that you so need right now. You son's sweet gift of white tulips will come again another time... Just rest and take care in your own haven of home sweet home Sandi.

Hugs, blessings and cheers from Wanda Lee

  13. Hi Sandi. Was wondering how you are. The meds can be strong! My husband had some back probs a number of years ago and had a muscle relaxer, pain killer & another, and basically doesn't remeber 6 weeks while they tried things to fix it. He'd grown a beard during that time, and after 6 weeks shaved it off when feeling better, but months later he couldn't remember growing it! We went places and met folks that he just couldn't remember due to the meds. So take it easy and give yourself permission to rest and do ONLY what the drs say you can...critical! We love you and are praying for you.
