Sugar and Spice for Tea Time

"Perhaps that is the true gift of a teatime celebration:
It fills our cups with joy and warmth and friendship.
May the echo of the teacup's message be heard not
only at Christmas, not only on special occasions,
but anytime friends come together." ~ Emelie Barnes

A warm welcome to Rose Chintz Cottage, my dear friends~

Today for Tea Time Tuesday I am celebrating a little someone very special; my little granddaughter, Jenna-Lynn, who is celebrating her second birthday tomorrow on December 4th. She is my only granddaughter so I know you grannies, and not yet grannies, out there will indulge me for a few moments.

Jenna-Lynn is all sugar and spice; cuddly and cute, yet full of mischief! She enjoys teasing her big brother and pulling pranks yet loves to curl up on your lap and cuddle.

She is all ready to go shopping with her little handbag. I haven't actually met this little one yet but I'm counting down the days till I do. We will be spending Christmas together this year and I am so excited!!

Happy Birthday, my little lambie!

This is her wee tea set which she will have when she is old enough to enjoy it.

Our tea is set out with Nanny's tea set and little Jenna-Lynn's. If you look closely, you will notice that they are matching sets.

We gown up ladies can enjoy some Earl Grey tea whereas there is cranberry juice for little birthday girls.

Both sets are made of porcelain by Skye McGhie and adorned with the fleurs de lis.

The little girl looking up at the tree is an ornament Jenna-Lynn's mommy and daddy gave me one year and I bring her out every Christmas. Her hat is a real knitted hat with a tassel in the back.

What better treat, both sweet and spicy like little Jenna-Lynn, than mincemeat tarts! These are a staple in my home this time of year.

When I was growing up, my mother always made mincemeat pie for Christmas but my children preferred pumpkin pie so I opted to make the tarts instead.

Each tart is decorated with a star making them pretty for the season.

Let's enjoy a tart with some tea, shall we?

Little Jenna-Lynn is too young to enjoy tea but I'm hoping to have many tea parties with her in the future.

Next week I am hosting my Celebrate....the Season with a Christmas Teaand I hope you will plan to join me for that.

Bring out your holiday pretties, tea things, and any baking you may have. Perhaps you would like to share a lovely Christmas memory with us too.

Have a beautiful day everyone!

"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given;
and the government shall be upon His shoulder;
And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." ~ Isaiah 9:6

I am delighted you have stopped by for tea today! Your presence always makes my tea party that much more special and I am happy to see all your tea things, whether you have shared them before or not. This tea party is all about sharing your joy of tea time and any thoughts you might have on the subject. You may be as creative, fancy, or as laid back with your tea time as you wish!

Do you have a favourite teacup/teapot or mug that you would like to share with us today? I would love to see it and I'm sure others would too!

If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too:
Hot Apple Cider
Hot Chocolate
Lemonade
Iced tea or Iced coffee
Punch in a beautiful bowl

The Tea Time Tuesday button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! To be sure everyone has a visit, it would be nice if you visited the participant before and after your name. Inlinkz is available below for you to sign up for my tea party.

As a courtesy, please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit with all my lovely participants.

  6. Dear Sandi,
I think, the sweet echo of your teacup's message will be heard everywhere in blogland. You are a horn of plenty with nice ideas around tea settings. How adorable is this tiny copie of a wonderful tea set. What a fun to own such a similar childrens set like the own grandmother. Little Jenna Lynn will delighted when she once get it. Your setting is as nice as the little tartes are yummy. Isn't that a miracle how quick childrens grow. I remember like yesterday all the sorrows when Jenna Lynn arrived. What a cute girl she is now. You will have a lot of fun with her the older she gets. Have a wonderful Advent time and thank you for hosting this sweet event.
    Best greetings, Johanna

  29. Dear Sandi,
I love your little tea set and Jenna Lynn will love it also when she gets older. I had tea with my two grand-daughters in PEI before we left to rescue efforts of Storm Sandi. I'm on the road in an RV, no tea cups, pretty pictures, grandbabies, or baking. I'll have to enjoy yours these next few months or just pop on in without baking :-)

Happy B'day to your adorable granddaughter! Your matching teasets are beautiful. Praying for your son and his surgery. My son has had ear infections growing up and went thru surgery to remove adnoids, tonsils and had tubes several times. He also plays guitar for our church. Praying for a speedy recovery for your son.
