Spiritual Sundays

Hello everyone~ I'm back from my holiday and my middle son and his sweet little family have returned home to Vancouver.
It was a wonderful yet hectic time and unfortunately I was laid up with my back for most of it, going to physio therapy about every second day during that time period.
Yet, I feel so blessed to have seen my boy and his family twice this year! Since they live on the other side of the country, it is very difficult for us to get together. We miss each other so badly when we're apart.
On a brighter note, they are going to bless our family with our first granddaughter around Christmastime and we're looking forward to her arrival! She will be the first baby girl born into our family of seven boys; I had three sons and we have four precious little grandsons! God is good!!

My post today is taken from a beautiful photo of a lighthouse taken in our fair city just a few days ago. I cannot take credit for it but I wanted to share it with you. It reminds me of the song, "The Lighthouse," penned by Ronnie Hinson.

"And I thank God for the Lighthouse,
I owe my life to Him,
For Jesus is the Lighthouse
and from the rocks of sin
He has shone around me
that I can clearly see,
If it wasn't for the Lighthouse
where would this ship be?"

"In Him was life; and the life was the light of men." ~ John 1:4
Indeed, where would any of us be without Jesus?

  2. Hi Sandi...oh, so glad that you had a great time visiting with your family...and having a new little granddaughter will be so much fun...:) :) :)

It looks like I'll have more time for blogging this week. I finished retraining this week...Next week, I'm only scheduled for 16 hours...not nearly enough...BUT God will supply all of my needs, including money to pay bills. So I'm not worried.

Thanks for sharing the song and the photo of the lighthouse. I really enjoyed both!!! I'm so glad you're back!!! Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

  3. Sandie, I'm glad you had a nice visit with your son and his family...congratulations on the new baby girl arriving just in time for Christmas. I pray your back is feeling better. That is a beautiful photo and song. Blessings, Patty

  4. I am so glad you were able to have a good visit with your son and his family. Nothing like those visits I know. I am sorry you are still battling with that back. I will continue to pray. How exciting on the new grandbaby girl! How loved she will be. ENJOY the beach and your week-end. HUGS, Debbie

  5. Gorgeous photo... and yes, I have heard that song before. Thank God for the lighthouse... which guides us through the storms of life.

  7. There is nothing better that being with our love ones and my Congratulations on the news of the precious little angel coming your way. I really enjoyed the song and photo of the lighthouse too.

  8. So wonderful you had such a good time with family, even with back problems. THis is a beautiful photo. Thank you for sharing it with us...

  9. I was very sad to read about your back. So you are going to be grandma again. How wonderful. I'm happy for you!

  10. I love this lighthouse song. The first time I heard it was when our men's quartet sang it at our church many years ago. I'm glad you got to be with your family but sorry for your back pain. It's hard to be so far away from your kids. I'm so thankful to have both of ours just about 5 minutes away.

  11. Yes, where would any of us be without Jesus??
Congratulaions on the expectant arrival of a new grandchild in December. I am a Christmas baby and that is why my mother called me Crystal Mary...LOL
May God bless you all with his loving kindness and abundant health. CML
