Spiritual Sundays


Hello and welcome to Spiritual Sundays where you get to meet some really nice people. We all have one thing in common; we love Jesus and have chosen to walk with Him. Charlotte and Ginger are the hostesses for this special event and I want to say a hearty "Thank you" to both of you ladies.


As I was pondering what to share with you today, the scripture verse from Philippians 4:8 kept coming to my mind.
"Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things."
I have many favourite verses in the Bible but this one pretty much tops the list!
Life sometimes comes at you with a vengeance. Sometimes it's not easy to keep a smile on your face, or a positive attitude, when faced with adversity.
But when the chips are down, I find if I keep my mind on all the attributes listed in Philippians 4:8, it is easier to keep a positive attitude. Where there is faith in God, there is hope! The two go together.

When I began my walk with the Lord, I came to Him empty-handed. I had nothing to give Him but myself, which wasn't much! I was lonely and lost!
But the trade off was incredible and literally, out of this world!
He gave me a new heart and a new life! He gave me so many wonderful things like; love, joy, peace, companionship, a great big family, and a mansion at the end of my journey here on earth. He gave me the assurance that He would never leave me nor forsake me.
He has also blessed me with a loving husband who happens to be my best friend, three of the most adorable sons that any mother could hope for, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and four darling grandsons. Yes, even on my worst day, I can tell you, I am blessed! That's my story today; what's yours?

  3. Wonderful post. Philippians 4:8 is also one of my favorite Scriptures. I read it often at funerals when asking the people to reflect back over the life of the deceased. Your words are uplifting. Thank you.

  12. In these hard times I feel more blessed than ever. I thank our Lord daily and ask him for guidance daily as well. I'm so glad you shared this scripture with us. I love the song Blessed Assurance it is so pretty and heart warming.

    I agree - we need a daily reminder sometimes to keep our eyes on things above and fill our hearts and minds with all that is pure and true. In this hectic and evil world it is so important to remember to focus only on Him. Sometimes it is a daily struggle!
    God has given us so many wonderful blessings to dwell on in this life. We need to hold those blessings close and never take them for granted! God is so good to us isn't He?

  15. I love it how the Lord can use something like a blog to bring fellow Christians together. I enjoyed finding you and seeing that you too wish to share God and your faith out in the open with the world. He is beyond amazing!!! You and my wife would get along wonderfully.
