Happy Birthday Jeff!

Good morning friends~ Today I'm celebrating the birthday of my first born son, Jeff.

I still remember the day I had him! It had been a long and difficult labour which ended in a C-section. Funny how a mother forgets all the agony once that darling baby is placed in her arms. Such was the case with me.

Jeff was and is a delight to our family. He was the baby that every mother dreams of; he slept through the night from the time we brought him home from the hospital! He was always very good-natured and is to this day, a joy!

Here he is at age 5 with his brother Joel.

In the picture above, he is 7 years old, with his brothers Joel and Jordan. A handsome grad student.

Jeff has always had a keen interest in the animal kingdom and has studied it from the time he was a little guy. There is nothing he doesn't know about animals and insects.

This is a photo of him with his son Brent admiring the salamander they found. Brent has inherited a love of God's creatures too! That's me looking on and no, I'm not scared of salamanders! I had to learn years ago to like these creatures!Jeff was the son who brought home stray kittens, birds, reptiles, and well, you get the picture! He also is the artist in the family. While a teenager, he began painting. Unfortunately, he has gotten away from it and I hope someday he will take it up again.

He was an adorable child and today is a handsome and caring man! He and his beautiful wife Joanna have blessed us with three little grandsons, Cameron, Brent, and Jared.
Jeff is very active in his church and plays on the worship team. He is their main drummer and bass player. He is also tackling the lead guitar at the moment. I think if given the chance, he could also play the piano. He is a very talented and kind hearted son; a son any mother would be proud to call her own!

Blue Monday ~ An Award and Another Tour of The Homestead.

Happy Blue Monday!
Good morning everyone. I hope you're enjoying the long weekend. I would like to share more of The Homestead with you; the blues this time around.

I also have this cute award to pass on to you. Andrea at Arise2write http://arise2write.blogspot.com/ passed this cute award on to me a couple of weeks ago and now I want to pass it on to all of you. Everyone who visits my blog today is welcome to take this award because you all inspire me. Thank you Andrea for thinking of me and passing this cute award on to me. It is also blue so I decided to share it today on Blue Monday.

The Homestead is a blue house so I thought I would show you the outside of this wonderful older house turned shoppe before taking you inside to see all the blues.As you can see, it is surrounded by a white picket fence. Who wouldn't want to venture inside this charming place? I could just move right in, never mind all the knick-knacks and wares!
The door has a sign that says, "Joy to all who enter." Now that you're inside, are you seeing blue? Aren't these gorgeous?

I just love this blue wallpaper! You can't tell from the photo but there is blue on the rooster.Upstairs they have settees, prints, quilts, and lots of stained glass.

I love the workmanship of all the wood in the place!
