Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday ~

It is the middle of March already, can you believe it? Another Pink Saturday has rolled around and we get another chance to show off our pinks. Beverly, at "How Sweet the Sound," is our hostess, and I thank her for inviting us all to participate yet another week. Be sure to stop in and visit Beverly, and all the other pinkies today by clicking on this link. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
Today, I have three pinks to show you ~

A pink key holder which was a gift from my son many years ago.
A cherub mirror which holds a pink votive candle. I have two of these mirrors. On the bed, I have two pink Martha Stewart cushions. They are reversible as you can see; one side is a satin stripe and the other side is just a little bit different pattern. There are also pink roses sprinkled all over the bedspread, curtains, canopy, and accessories. I'm getting ready for Summer!
The picture above is the true colour of the bedding.
Well, Pinkies, those are my contributions for today. Have a wonderful pink day everyone!

Apple Crisp....A Different Version

Good Morning ~ We had our Bible Study Wednesday evening and I had made an apple crisp for refreshments afterwards. It is a challenge every week to come up with something because one of our ladies is extremely allergic to many things, especially eggs! This particular recipe makes enough to feed sixteen people which is just enough to feed our group. It is a little different, in that it does not call for oatmeal but a cake mix instead. It is quick and very easy to make and everyone likes it better than the old-fashioned kind. I thought I would share the recipe with you.
"Cinnamon Apple Crisp"
6 Granny Smith apples, sliced
{I only had two Granny Smiths, so I used four Cortlands}
1 cup of water
1 box of white cake mix
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of ground cloves
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
Arrange sliced apples in an ungreased 9x13 pan. Pour water over the apples. In a separate bowl, combine cake mix, brown sugar, spices, and melted butter. Stir until blended and the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle crumb mixture over the apples.
Bake @350 degrees for about 50 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Yield: 16 servingsTry it ...you'll like it! Have a great day everyone! Hugs ~ Sandi
