"I love things that bear the touch of time, chips and all - they're more beautiful than perfection." ~ Ballerina Quoted in Victoria magazine
Welcome to another Tea Time Tuesday friends~
With Valentines Day behind us, I am looking forward to another special day; the first day of Spring!
We got a fresh blanket of snow over the weekend and all is white outside my window but that doesn't hamper my dreams of green grass and robins eggs.
So, on March 19, I am hosting, you guessed it, another theme party! Let's Celebrate~ The Splendor of the Season~ Spring Tea.
Spring is less than a month away and since Spring is my favourite season, I have to celebrate it, right?
I will share more about my Spring Tea next week. You are welcome to take my button if you wish.
Do you like my roses? A bouquet from my hubby for Valentines Day.
I tucked the roses into my little frenchy teapot and I think they look tres chic!
For today's tea I'm using my Rose Petals teacup made by Maxwell and Williams.
I thought it looked lovely with my roses and it also holds a nice amount of Stash Green Chai tea.
Sometimes I like to play when setting up a tea vignette. Today's tea was one of those times.
Here I've used a white crocheted table cloth with a candle lantern.
Then I tried using a simple tea-stained doily with the Eiffel Tower. My little frenchy finial plays a part in the vignette too.
Which do you like better; the candle lantern or the Eiffel Tower?
Remember the tea kettle - it is always up to its neck in hot water, yet it still sings. ~ Unknown
A snowy white jelly roll filled with lemon is just the thing with a cup of tea.
I was visiting another blogger friend a few weeks ago and she was talking about storing teacups. I have quite a few teacups as I'm sure many of you do, but it has never occured to me to share how I store them.
The following photos are ways in which I store mine. I hope it is helpful to those of you who have wondered about it.
This is one way I store them, in plain sight or hidden away in a cabinet. Arrange four teacups on top of their stacked saucers and tuck the handles into the cup next to it. This keeps them neat and they also look nice.
The cups in case you were wondering are: Maxwell and Williams' Rose Bud, Royal Albert's Old English Rose, Gracie Bone China's Rose Chintz, and the lovely green teacup is made of porcelain and was handpainted by Amy @ Vintage Porcelain Art~ http://vintageporcelainart.blogspot.com/. I had won it in her Giveaway a couple of years ago.
If you have three teacups you want to store or display, try this one.
Or this way; similar to four only using three cups.
Maybe you prefer a display like this, under a cloche.
Glass cloches were originally used by Victorian Gardeners to protect delicate seedlings. These miniature greenhouses are perfect for forcing bulbs or displaying your cherished possessions.
Do you have some storage solutions which I haven't mentioned? I would love for you to share them with us!
A tea caddy by definition is a small container for tea leaves, or in my case, tea bags.
"This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it." ~ Psalm 118:24
Have a beautiful day, dear friends. It is simply lovely that you have come for tea today.
Do you have a favourite teacup/teapot or mug you would like to share? I would love to see it! If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too: hot apple cider, hot chocolate, lemonade, iced tea or coffee, punch. No alcoholic beverages please.
The TTT button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! Please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit with all my lovely participants.

Dear Sandi,
ReplyDeleteyou got oh so pretty roses on Valentines day. They are still fresh looking. And the tea cup is amazing. I love the modern types of rose cups. The painting looks so real and has so bright colors. And your stacks of cups are beautiful to see. The patterns match so nicely.
It' s such a good idea to celebrate spring. It will come soon. Although it is freezing cold here, the birds start singing in the nightfall. I love their songs. They sing of spring.
Best greetings, Johanna
I am so happy to see how you put the four teacups together on the saucer. I saw that in Wales, but couldn't remember exactly what they looked like. Mine didn't even come close when I tried it. Of course, that was back in the days of big cameras and I sure wasn't going to lug one around and take pictures in someone's home. How times have changed! I want to go again.♥♫
ReplyDeleteWonderful ways to display china. I'm drinking Stash Green Chai TOO! Lovely, isn't it? A wonderful post. I love your color combination!

Hi Sandi; always a pleasure to read your teatime post. A brief break in the routine of the day. I look forward to seeing what you are writing and showing. Thanks for hosting a teatime link up as well. I've met some lovely bloggers through your linkups.

Your blog is so much fun to visit! I always love to see the cup and saucer you show us. The Rose Petal pattern reminds me of antique roses in a garden. The Eiffel Tower is my favorite with the lovely glow. The way you stack your cups is how I remember those being shown in the English china shops. What great ideas that I plan on trying! Happy Tea Party! Pam
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful post about simple things, and simple pleasures. Thank you.

I love your vignettes! I think I like the one with the lantern, but maybe if it was on some books for added height. Thanks for the tips on storing the teacups.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi. I love how you laid your cups for storing, I have never thought of that way, looks pretty too! Of course I am a big fan of your Eiffel tower candle holder!! Oooh Lala.... Happy Tea Day and have a great week.

ReplyDeleteSandi .. thank you for gathering us together for tea again! Your roses look perfect, in your French teapot.. though both the lantern and Eiffel tower looks .. my love for Paris, is making swoon with the Eiffel tower display ... happy tea time..xo HHL
ReplyDeleteMy Canadian Cousins from New Brunswick taught me to store my cups like you have, nestled next to each other with handles tucked inside. They look so nice that way I think.
ReplyDeleteHello Sandi, It is time to think of a special Spring tea post! So excited. Love your Frenchy vignette - lovely teacup! Thank you for sharing how you store your teacups - They do look lovely and I will enjoy cleaning out my shelves to set them as such! I hope you have a great week,

Hello again Sandi, Just wanted to tell you I am so Delighted you shared this lovely post with A Return to Loveliness. As I visited once again, I realized your china in the header and post look awfully familiar. I believe my friend, whom I shared lunch with today has that china!

HI Sandi! Lovely tea time today. I also like the Eiffel tower on the table as it adds some height. Thanks for hosting and have a blessed week. Hugs, Pamela
ReplyDeleteYour roses are a lovely addition and so special , especially from your hubby. Your china is absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYour vignette is lovely.
Hi Sandi: I would have never tried storing my tea cups like that. Thanks for the great ideas. I just stack them, four straight up. I think your way is safer, especially since I live in Earthquake Country. Hugs, Martha
ReplyDeleteWell..I am speechless! What a great thing to learn. It just never occurred to me to do anything with teacups but stack them precariously on top of one another. This is sooo great. Thank you for sharing!! LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mona
How lovely all of your displays are.
ReplyDeleteI think I like the Eiffle tower,or maybe the lantern. I will say i love them both.

ReplyDeletep.s. never heard of green chai!
The rose teacup is fabulous. A perfect match for your beautiful Valentine roses! Thank you for sharing your storage system for teacups, it is always a challenge putting them away safely.
ReplyDeleteHello Sandi
ReplyDeleteI guess I don't have enough teacups to worry about how to store them - yet! In my hutch, I have them layered by twos but I have wondered what I'll do if I start to buy more.
Your tea table vignette is pretty as always and I like the idea of a spring tea.
Judith
I just love your teaparty today. It is so romantic. Everything is soo pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour table setting is just so beautiful today. I am finding that I really like the tea sets with BIG roses. Your set is very lovely. Your a genius in how you store your cups!! I do love how you set the roses your hubby gave you. And it is hard to choose which is liked best, the church or the Eiffel Tower. They both set great moods for your table.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed tea with you today.
Have a great day.
Brenda
Everything is so beautiful! I love the way you stacked the cups. I have mine stacked on top of each other in a curio cabinet, I had some fall out, when I opened it Valentines Day. Your way looks prettier and safer!
ReplyDeleteHello Sandi, your settings are gorgeous in white! The red rose really sets it all off and adds to the romance!
ReplyDeleteAll your tea cups are very pretty! Most of my cups are stored in china cabinets. Some I tuck here and there around the house. This is my way of trying NOT to buy another china cabinet! Lol!
Hugs,
Terri
Sandi,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Tea cups and lovely tea post as always. I am so sorry that I keep saying I am going to join in on your party but these last few weeks have been slipping away from me.
Health issues with tests and then more tests and Dr. visits all with working full time....
I hope it will be all done and over soon and I can catch my breath...
Hugs,
Deb
I am sooo late this week! Sigh....Love your post. Your teacups are lovely and arrangement ideas are great suggestions!

ReplyDeleteLinda
Love the tea lit Eiffel Tower and also the 4 cup display. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI love all your china. I never thought of storing my teacups in fours, believe it or not, always threes for some reason?! My fave is under the cloche in plain sight rather than secreted away in the cupboard.
You always seem to leave a little footprint on my heart with your sweet notes on my blog whenever you visit me! Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness always. Your comments make my day!
Hugs,
Linda at Beautiful Ideas
Oh, I love the chintz ware! I also love that Eiffle tower as a candle holder! I saw in a magazine that they used an Eiffle and made a flower holder out of it. It was pretty cute! Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!
