Pink Saturday Time

It's Pink Saturday time again and I have something new to share.

Downtown Charlottetown has a little thrift shop which opened a few months ago and Lori, the lady of the shop, has some very nice things. If you're looking for vintage furniture, china, linens, lamps, etc, hers is the place to go!

I have found some lovely things since meeting Lori and at my last visit, I found these:

A new pink depression glass teacup. The pattern is called Trellis and even has some fleur de lis on it. Love it!

My Daddy used to collect vintage items, including milk bottles. He had quite a collection but when he passed away, they all went missing! I never got one. So when I found these bottles at Lori's shop, I snatched them up.

The little cream bottle still has the stopper on it.

And what is better than one pink teacup?

Why two of course!

Tea anyone?

I found a few other things too but I will share them next week at my tea party. Would you like to join me?

I am so glad you have stopped by and I hope your Labor Day weekend is a happy and safe one! Thanks to Beverly for hosting our pink party.

UPDATE~ Since posting this, we received word that my hubby's nephew passed away this afternoon. So I know you will forgive me if I am not able to visit everyone this weekend. God bless you!

The Lord make His face shine on you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance on you,

In this world of chaos and uncertain times, it is a blessing to know that in Him, there is peace! Wishing all my bloggy friends a beautiful and restful Sunday.

Pinks for Pink Saturday and Open House

Hello bloggy friends and welcome to my cottage.

This past week I shared a new vintage teacup at my tea party and I thought you pinkies might enjoy seeing it too since it is pink.

I love the look of stacked teacups, don't you? Especially when they're pink!

My new vintage teacup with a pink rose snuggled up to it........

I am also sharing some posies from my garden this past Summer.
Alas, they are all gone now but we can enjoy the pictures.

"In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams." ~ Abram L. Urban

Bleeding hearts....

"The serene philosophy of the pink rose is steadying.
Its fragrant, delicate petals open fully and are ready
to fall, with regret or disillusion, after only a day in
                                   the sun.
                        It is so every summer.
One can almost hear their pink, fragrant murmur as
they settle down upon the grass:
"Summer, summer, it will always be summer." ~ Rachel Peden

One of my rose bushes with petals upon the grass.

Roses with a wee bit of bridal veil under lace....

Roses in a teapot. Oh, I so miss the fragrance of my roses!

I hope you have enjoyed my pinks. I am joining Beverly @ How Sweet the Sound and Bernideen for Open House.
Wishing you all a delightful weekend!

A New Teacup for Tea Time Tuesday

"The mere chink of cups and saucers tunes the mind to happy repose." ~ George Gissing

Welcome friends to another Tea Time Tuesday ~

Some ladies love clothes, some love purses and shoes, others love jewelery, and so on! I have always loved pretty china! How about you? It just makes my heart go pitter-pat!

When I was a young bride-to-be, preparing to set up housekeeping, I started collecting china and glassware.
I had a nice collection but once my little ones started coming along, I had to get rid of many of my beloved pieces. In those early days, we moved around a lot so I ended up giving much of it away, including my tea sets. *sigh*

I knew someday I would start collecting again. It was only a matter of time....

Fast forward to our present day.... Our children are all grown up and on their own so it's just Hubby and me once again.

Little by little, I have found some very nice pieces; my most prized collection being Johnson Bros. Rose Chintz

I do however hanker after transferware; especially the red.

I have a collection of teapots above my cabinets and teacups in the cabinets. I must count my teacups one of these days to see how many I have. I met a lady in an antique shop this summer who confided in me that she had over five hundred teacups! Can you imagine that?

I know I don't have nearly that many. Maybe not even fifty. I wouldn't have any place to store them for one thing. Do you know how many teacups you have?

This Summer, I have been fortunate to find several teacups which I have had on my 'Treasure Hunt' list. And last weekend, I found yet another teacup which I have been searching for!

This lovely teacup is Royal Albert's Serena. Yes, Betty, I finally found one! Isn't she pretty?

The Serena mark...

I just love this vintage cup with the lush pink roses accented with blue anemones and colourful posies! The fern just adds to its charm along with the gold rims. Inside the cup is a small bouquet on both sides. Whether you are right-handed or left-handed, you have something pretty to look at while sipping your favourite tea.

It is a flared and waisted style called Melvern and I find it very classy.

The timelessness of china and lace never fail to enchant me~

I found a battenburg lace runner when I was away visiting my relatives. It cost me all of two dollars at a thrift store. I love this intricate lace adorning the pure white cotton!

I have set my tea table with this runner and two of my new teacups. One for you and one for me....Serena and Lady Carlyle.

A lovely peach tea steeps in the teapot. Would you like a cup?

This time of year, we can enjoy all kinds of fresh fruit and berries. Right now peaches are in season so I have made a Peach Crumble Pie for our tea.

My roses are all done so I have pink roses from the grocery store.

Juicy peaches topped by a lovely crumble and fresh whipped cream is a real treat this time of year!

Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.

I still have a few favourites on my 'Treasure Hunt' list, one of which is Royal Albert's Blossom Time and another is American Beauty as well as a few others.  What pattern are you hankering for these days?

"Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart." ~  Psalm 37:4

I am happy to see all your tea things, whether you have shared them before or not. This tea party is all about sharing your joy of tea time and any thoughts you might have on the subject. And for the summer months, I would love to see your teacups and teapots indoors as well as out in the garden, at the beach, on a park bench, etc...

Also I would enjoy seeing your teacup and teapot crafts as well as recipes and any stories you might have to share about tea time. So, let's have fun this summer with our teas. Get out there and be as creative, fancy, or as laid back as you wish!

I am delighted you have stopped by for a visit today. Your presence always make my tea party that much more special! Do you have a favourite teacup/teapot or mug that you would like to share with us today? I would love to see it and I'm sure others would too!

If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too:
Hot apple cider
Hot chocolate
Lemonade
Iced tea or coffee
Punch in a lovely bowl.
No alcoholic beverages please.

The Tea Time Tuesday button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! To be sure everyone has a visit, it would be nice if you visited the participant before and after your name.

Inlinkz is available below for you to sign up for my tea party.
As a courtesy, please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit with all my lovely participants.

Pink Saturday

Hello everyone ~ Pink Saturday is here again. I was away last week but I'm back with some pink for you.

I am captivated by roses, and roses on tea things just make a tea that much more special. Although the teapot is adorned by peonies, the other pieces have roses.

I found this teapot at the Anne of Green Gables Store.

The last of my roses for this year. *Sigh*

The nice thing about roses on china is you can enjoy roses all year round.

Thank you for stopping by to have tea with me. I wish you all a rosy pink weekend. Please stop by Beverly's at How Sweet the Sound to check out all her pinks.

A Lovely Surprise

Good afternoon dear friends. I am sitting here sipping my cup of tea with a thankful heart for all the blessings in my life.

I love giving gifts and I know you do too. I also enjoy receiving them. Yesterday I received a surprise package in the mail from my youngest son.

He has just left Canada this week to embark upon a career which he had been studying towards for years.
His career move has taken him to Illinois, a new state as well as a new country. While he was packing up, he also packed up and mailed out a surprise for his mama.

He had gone to France this past June and while there, he picked up a couple of things for me; a lovely cake of lavender soap from Provence, and a miniature replica of the church Sacre-Coeur in Paris.

I wish you could smell this soap! It is exquisite! The little cicada came with it. Provence is known for them apparently. We also have them here on the Island. In case you have no idea what a cicada is, it is a tree cricket with a loud, shrill sound which we hear in August.

This little cicada is a magnet.

"Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your prayers." ~ Maya Angelou

The Sacre-Coeur is a famous church in Paris which stands on one of the highest points of the city. From its vantage point, one can have a wonderful view of the city. The church is pure white and it took forty years to build.

The photo below was taken by my son when he was there. This is the front of the building. Isn't it beautiful?

Family is a precious gift. In this case, my youngest son, in the middle of all his packing and all the busyness which accompanies such a big transition, thought of his mama back home and sent her a little memento of his trip to France.

God gives good gifts and my cup is overflowing with them. I am very blessed! What are you thankful for today?

Tea Time Tuesday

"Fairest of months! Ripe summer queen

The hey-day of the year

With robes that gleam with sunny sheen,
Sweet August doth appear."
~R. Combe Miller

Hello dear friends and welcome to another Tea Time Tuesday! Did you all have a nice weekend? My h
ubby and I were away for the weekend visiting my family in New Brunswick so my post will be a wee bit shorter today.

It was a busy weekend so I am enjoying some peace and quiet today. The sound of birds singing outside my window and the scent of summer is wafting its way through the open windows.
I do love this time of year!

For our tea today, I am using a teapot I found at the Anne of Green Gables Store at the beginning of the Summer.

It is sitting on a Skye McGhie plate called Coventry Garden.

The Coventry Garden teacup goes well with it. I love these beautiful pink roses that smile sweetly from these pieces!

Cupcake under glass.

I have decided to move my tea into the living room where I can watch the birds at the feeder.

These are my last roses of Summer. It is sad to see them go!

I have a cup of tea for you too. This is another Skye McGhie teacup called Chantilly Lace.

Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.

Next week I will share another new teacup which I found on the weekend. Thank you for visiting today. Your presence always makes my tea time that much more special! I would love to have you join me by linking up below and I will be happy to come and visit you.
