Lavender and Lace

If a kiss could be seen I think it would look like a violet. ~ LM Montgomery - Anne of Avonlea

Welcome friends to a Lavender and Lace tea.

It is near the end of February and I thought I had better bring out my February teacup. This lovely Royal Albert Violets teacup was gifted to me by my hubby's aunt many years ago.

Do you think amethysts can be the souls of good violets? ~ LM Montgomery - Anne of Green Gables

This is one of only three Flowers of the Month series teacups that I have. Like most of you teacup lovers, I would dearly love to find teacups for all my family members' birthdays but here on the Island they are very hard to come by.

My teapot, Pretty Pansies, you have all seen before and it looks nice with my teacups. When I see a pansy, it always looks like it is smiling; sweet little posies!

These teacups are made by Gracie China.

The matching plate to the teapot is also Pretty Pansies.

These are my Valentine roses which I dried and look what a lovely colour they are! They almost match the purple in my china although the camera has changed the colour somewhat. They really are more of a lavender hue.

The sweet lacy bag which is filled with lavender is as fresh as the day I received it from Kathy at A Delightsome Life.

Vintage lace and silver.

The cameo I wore on my wedding day. A bit tarnished but dear. That day it was worn on a velvet ribbon around my neck.

I have made Blueberry oatmeal muffins for our tea. These are very moist and healthy too.

Joy is another name for tea at its best. ~ James N. Pratt

Please help yourself to tea and a muffin. A warm blueberry muffin and fresh creamery butter.

 Stash organic Lavender-Tulsi herbal tea.

I made a double batch of muffins so there are plenty. If you would like the recipe I will share it tomorrow.

Thank you lovely friends for stopping by. It's a beautiful sunny day here on PEI and I hope it's lovely where you are. Enjoy your weekend and please join me on Monday for No Place Like Home. Click here to go directly to that post.

  13. I have looked for the February teacup myself and rarely find any months in our antique stores. A tea with lavender and lace is dear to my heart and I'd love to join you at your table Sandi.

  14. Hi Sandi, it is a beautiful Saturday here in Missouri too. Your violets and pansies are so pretty. I could use your February cup for my upcoming post. :) Your cameo is quite lovely and I like the way you staged it for a photograph. I have that very same cutwork napkin! Enjoyed the Anne quotes, so cute!
    Happy Sunday!

  16. What a pretty tea to celebrate February, Sandi. I only have the December teacup that a friend gave me from her late mother's collection. It would be nice to have one for each family member's birthday.
I'd love to share a blueberry muffin with you and a cup of tea...pure delight that would be!

  18. Beautiful and delicious looking at the same time. I always think of my Grandmother when I see Pansies because she had a big round Pansy flower bed and had many Pansy vases in which to display them. one of my favorite flowers now!

  20. I love all the beautiful purple pieces, but of course, my favorite is the cameo you wore at your wedding.

I have a pink cameo ring from my grandmother. It no longer fits me, but my daughter wears it now.

    Thanks for sharing at SYC.

  21. Sandi,

What a lovely post. I grew up in England, and so I enjoy a jolly good tea party. My great-grandpa worked as a potter and painter, and painted many teacups made in Staffordshire.

I especially like your silver and your cameo. What precious heirlooms to pass down to the next generation.

  23. Sandi, I always adore your gorgeous teapots and teacups! I only own one monthly teacup. The month of July, which is my birthday. I spied it at a thrift and had to buy it. Last year I found and Aug. one at an estate sale and bought it and gave it to a dear cousin for her birthday. Love your sweet cameo! I will be getting your recipe and making the muffins tomorrow. I have blueberries that need to be used. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
