Hello dear bloggerettes~ I hope you're all enjoying your weekend.
Many of you had asked me for an update on my son Jeff and for those of you who did not know, this past Thursday morning he underwent a four hour surgery on his left ear. He has a condition called Cholesteatoma which was brought on by a very bad ear infection about fifteen years ago. Since then he has been having terrible ear infections and has lost most of the hearing in that ear.
The operation was hopefully going to restore his hearing in that ear, or some of it, as well as remove a tumor in there. When the surgeon went in he discovered that the tumor had done more damage than first suspected, so some restoration had to be done.
My son is home now and recuping. He is still in a lot of pain but at least he is better than he was. He will not know for a week whether he has hearing in that ear or not.
The poor boy has been through a lot the past few days and I thank you so much for your prayers on his behalf. I know it has made all the difference for him and for his family, including his mom.
Sharing from my heart~ Sandi

Dear Sandi,
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts, love and hope are with you and your son, but also with the 30-year-old daughter of two dear friends of mine who is facing breast cancer and has just been operated.
Unfortunately, these serious health problems are affecting the younger generation, which is a shock for us, but fortunately science and medicine are answering these challenges, more and more, so I'm sure your son is on the way to full recovery.
Enjoy your weekend with your son and family.
Hugs and all the best for you all.
It is amazing what surgeons can do these days. Hopefully your son will be able to hear again and be free from ear infections again. Valerie
