Good morning blogging friends~
Do you find the word verification thingy time consuming and difficult to read? Last night it took me three tries before I finally got it right on someone's blog.
I don't want it on my own blog. Can someone please tell me how to turn off the word verification thingy? I can't find it. Thanks for your help.

Also, due to the amount of spam I've been getting, I have had to set Comment Moderation. ~ Sandi

Good Morning. I started at DASHBOARD. Go to SETTINGS. Then COMMENTS. Then SHOW WORD VERIFICATION FOR COMMENTS. Now you can make the decision to use word verify or not.
ReplyDeleteI dropped the word verification thing a while back - it was taking me 'forever' to comment on the blogs I love and so I thought I could help the folks who comment on mine. This latest change with all the blurry, squiggillely (yes, I know that's not a real word but I can't think of another way to describe it!) verification words is nuts. Or maybe I need stronger glasses. Have a great weekend.
Hi Sandi, C. Joy is right but you have to use the old user interface instead of the new one! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI just tried to find this Sandi and I have the new interface and it's not there. I disabled the word verifiation before I changed over to the new interface. I wonder how I get back to the old interface? I hope you can do it. I too find it annoying and a lot of other blogs I follow are talking about it. All the best. Pam
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteyou got already two descriptions. May be the post from mariette with photos could be also helpful:

Best greetings, Johanna
Hello Sandi, I am still using the old interface - so, c. Joy's advice is helpful. I have been having more spam mail lately and was considering switching to word verification for a short while. Don't you just wish people would be nice online! I hope you're able to get the answer you need!

I am not a robot! ;)
I don't like it either! The way Joy described it is the way I did mine. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Sandi, I just blogged about that today! Hope I was right, not sure b/c I have never used it. GL and let me know.
ReplyDeleteI can see you haven't been able to shut yours off yet. Hope you can, it's awful, isn't it?
Sandi, the word verification is gone! Yay!
ReplyDeleteI quite agree with you. I'm getting so I'm considering not leaving comments on sites that require it. It's just such a lot of work; I've kept changing the "gotcha" till I think I have one I'm seeing correctly. But to check if I'm a robot, wouldn't the spam checker work? If it doesn't, why do they have it?
