Tea Time Tuesday, A Blogiversary, and the Winner of My Giveaway

"Because nice matters." ~ Nancy Lindemeyer

Hello everyone and welcome to Tea Time Tuesday.
Today is my 3rd Blogiversary and I am so happy you have come to help me celebrate! My  Blogiversary Giveaway has come to a close and I have a winner. I want to thank you all for entering. You have all made this Island girl feel very special and you are all very much appreciated.

I had my sweet hubby draw the name from the teapot and I am pleased to announce that the winner of one of the teacups is~

Carolyn @ Aiken House and Gardens
CONGRATULATIONS CAROLYN! I'm sure you are all familiar with Carolyn and her fabulous blog. Carolyn is also an Islander and she has been with me from the very beginning of my blogging days as well as a regular participant in Tea Time Tuesday.  Thank you Carolyn!

Three years ago I branched out of my comfort zone and decided to create a blog. I never dreamed anyone would be interested in my little blog and I am so glad to discover that over six hundred of you do actually like it. Then on January 26, 2010, I began my Tea Time Tuesday and it has been growing ever since.
You are amazing and I am blessed by your friendship!
To my tea friends, you are so special to me and I am honoured once again that you have come for tea with me today.

FRIENDSHIP is precious,
not only in the shade,
but in the sunshine of life. ~ Thomas Jefferson

A week ago, the Island held its yearly 70 Mile Yard Sale and Hubby and I spent most of the day going from one sale to another. I brought home a few little treasures which I will share with you in the coming weeks.  I got four teacups and saucers, a red rimmed King's Crown creamer/jug, and an aqua glass jar; all for about thirty dollars. I did pretty good, eh?

So today, I am going to share one of my cups with you; this beautiful English china teacup.

It is a rich tapestry of colour, adorned with lots of gold, a rich cobalt blue, and persimmon coloured roses; perfect for Autumn. The pattern is called Oxford with the initials C L on it. The garlands and bands of gold adorning the cup and saucer remind me of a wedding cake; very elaborate. It is a stunning cup, really.

I know I've seen the initials CL before but do you think I can find the maker? No way. I've been searching the internet since I brought it home and can find nothing.

"Tea is wealth itself,
Because there is nothing that cannot be lost,
No problem that will not disappear,
No burden that will not float away,
Between the first sip and the last." ~ The Minister of Leaves

A cup of tea?

Blueberry muffins, fresh from the oven.

Cranberry muffins, also fresh from the oven. I was in a muffin baking mood.

I'm having a blueberry muffin myself with a cup of orange tea... Have you noticed the beautiful Autumn themed doily underneath it all? I received that as part of a Giveaway last year from the gracious Bernideen.

Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.

On this rainy afternoon, it's so nice to enjoy a warm and inviting tea in the glow of candlelight and the sparkle of crystal as it reflects itself upon the wall.

Frosted with sparkle, these baby pumpkins...

....and a Victoria issue of Holiday Bliss magazine puts one in the mood for the holidays. Already there are visions of sugarplums dancing in my head.

It's a good idea to keep your words sweet - you may have to eat them someday.

Do you have a pretty teacup you would like to share; perhaps a favourite coffee mug or a teapot? I would love to see it! Tea Time Tuesday is all about friends gathering together and having fellowship over a cup of tea or coffee. If you wish, you might prefer to serve apple cider, iced tea or iced coffee. Hot chocolate, lemonade, or punch is always welcome too.
Should you like to participate, the TTT button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome too! Please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit with all my lovely participants.

  21. Your bog is amazing and I should let you know that when I decided to expand my blogging to include my passion for tea party related fare and all my teacups, YOUR BLOG was one of the FIRST I discovered that enchanted me...I will never forget it - it was around EASTER last year. So I thank YOU for allowing me a virtual playground for my love of tea and exposing me to all kinds of wonderful people and new recipes and ideas - plus actually more than you know I love your scripture and inspirational quotes! It has filled a void for sure. Take care and CONGRATS on the FUN!

  24. Happy anniversary! I don't recognize the maker either. The pattern is called Imari & the set dates to about 1910-1920s. Imari was popularized in the 1870s from the influence of the china from the Imari region of Japan & is designated by the color combo. Lots of companies in Stoke made it, but I can't find the maker either! I LOVE imari, though! And I would love a blueberry muffin too!

  34. What a beautiful teacup find, Sandi! I just love the colors - and such a "royal" design! Yes - that and a few others for under $30 is quite a steal! Your treats look good, too - but as I've been partaking of too much in the gluten stores lately, it has caught up with me and I'm having alot of pain. I must purge and get back to myself. Oh - but I love those pastries with my tea!
Congrats to Carolyn as your winner! Blessings!
    Joy!
