Spiritual Sundays ~ Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my Canadian friends!

It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and I thought I would share some things that I am thankful for...

I am thankful for the many blessings in my life; the love of my family and friends, my home, the clothes in my closet, and good food on the table. I never ever take those blessings for granted!

I am thankful for the freedom I have in this country to worship God.

I am thankful for prayer...
Many of you have prayed for me this past year and I want to thank you.
"The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much." ~ James 5:16

I am thankful for the Word of God...
"He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength." ~ Isaiah 40:29
When I am weak, He makes me strong.

"Whatever is true, honourable, right, pure, lovely, of good report ...let your mind dwell on these things." ~ Philippians 4:8
Letting my mind dwell on pleasant things, keeps me in a positive frame of mind when perhaps everything around me is telling me otherwise.

The Lord has rescued me from so many things and in so many ways that I can't help but give Him praise for the good things in my life.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits;
Who pardons all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from the pit;
Who crowns you with loving kindness and compassion;
Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle." ~ Psalm 103: 1-5

  5. Happy Thanksgiving, dear Sandi. I love this post. The white pumpkins are so pretty. Our son was over at the house the other day and we got to talking about pumpkins. I made the statement that I wondered what color the white pumpkins were inside. My son said he didn't know there were white pumpkins. I guess he needs to get out more. LOL
    Right now I'm making some pumpkin bread and it smells wonderful. I'll eat it and celebrate Thanksgiving with you.
    Blessings,
    Charlotte
