A Special Tea Time Tuesday

"If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give." ~ George MacDonald

Welcome friends to Tea Time Tuesday!

I am delighted you have stopped by today because this is a very special day in our family! The best thing about October 31st is that it is my grandson's birthday.

Our Brent is 8 years old today. Hard to believe! It seems just like yesterday that I cradled this adorable little boy in my arms and held him close to my heart. Oh, he still loves to cuddle but he's a big boy now!

Brenty is a unique little guy, and of my son's three boys, Brent is the most like him in that he loves nature and critters. Brent is charming, lovable, and he is inquisitive about everything!

So, please have a seat and join me as we celebrate Brent today for Tea Time.

Brent loves catching tadpoles and watching them turn into frogs. He loves butterflies and salamanders too.

He is curious about everything with four legs and everything that hops, flies, or slithers. Yes, he's all boy!
Anytime we visit, Brent almost always has a creature of some kind in a jar or aquarium. His father still brings home toads and other four legged critters to his boys when he's out and about. Some things never change! My DIL is learning a lot!

Brent also likes hockey....
They had a hockey themed birthday party for him on Saturday and his dad baked the birthday cake. As you can see, it is his favourite hockey team, Montreal Canadians. I must say, I'm impressed that my son made this himself!

Here is Brent blowing out the candles while his mom and two friends look on.

A picture of the guys celebrating with Brent. Brent is the one with the red hockey jersey on. His older brother Cameron is wearing the white jersey, and his younger brother is in front holding the hockey stick in front of his sweet little face. They all look like they're having a blast.

So, in keeping with Brenty's birthday today, I have a tea which is inspired, not by hockey, but by creatures. But do not fear, they are the cute kind!

Bees and butterflies, dragonflies and ladybugs, all adorn the Maxwell and Williams china. I really like the shape of this cup. The trim is like that which is on the teapot I shared last week although they are made by two different companies.

Each piece is sprinkled with flowers and edged with gold as well.

Dragonflies also adorn this cute cloche which has a chocolate cupcake candle beneath it.

And since most little guys like chocolate, as well as most grandmothers, we are having chocolate cupcakes,  brownies, and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies with our tea. The cookie jar is full, so please help yourself!

The tea table is strewn with smarties to make it more festive for our special little guy.

A cup of cranberry juice for you, Brent, and a cuppa tea for Nanny!

Happy Birthday Brent!

You are loved a lot!

"Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; The fruit of the womb is a reward...How blessed is the man {or woman} whose quiver is full of them." ~ Psalm 127: 3,5

Thank you for stopping by and celebrating Brent with me. I would love for you to join me for Tea Time Tuesday! All you have to do is share a favourite tea cup or teapot, a coffee mug, or something tea related. If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too: apple cider, iced tea or iced coffee, hot chocolate, lemonade, or punch. The TTT button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! Please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit with all my lovely participants.

  4. Hi Sandi,

Happy Halloween and Happy Birthday to your handsome Brent! Your tea looks really yummy.

One of these days I'm going to join you for Tea Time Tuesday. Please forgive me, I'm 'new' to blogging and yet to figure how to do lots of stuff where blogs are concerned. LOL But when I do, I'll be there! My nephew is coming home for Christmas and he is a computer whiz, so I am hoping he will show me how to add some features that I've seen on other blogs but have yet to learn, that is if I don't work it out before then :-)

I'll be drawing for my give-away (something nice for Christmas) at the end of this night - hope you're lucky cause I know how you love them! Haha

Hope it's not too cold where you are.

  20. Happy Birthday Brent! That is a special cake your dad made...well done I'm adding. What a special tea time, Grandchildren are in my camera lenses also. I so love your tea cup and tea saucer. This week I've been beading dragonflies and butterflies for the upcoming homepreneur Expo, I sure hope you come out on Nov 26th.

The dragonfly cloche caught my eye, nice piece, it must be wonderful to display. It made the chocolate cupcake for Brent look so tempting. Brent reminds me way back when...of mom checking my brothers pockets before she put them into the washing machine for worms and toads. Thanks for the memories

  32. Sandi I so enjoy the relaxing pace of your blog...each post is a treat without my cup of tea.

I am a hugh fan of Tea Shoppes and would go to one in a minute. As a great-grandmother my trips out to tea are less but it does not mean I enjoy them any less. My daughter took me to High Tea last week for my birthday.

Your post about your Aunt and Uncle touched my heartstrings. It is so wonderful that your generation keeps in touch with the older generation with such love and care.

My eldest son was also born on All Hallows Eve and is now in his fifties. He does not live close by though. That is where email is a blessing.

Your chinz china is like you ... pleasingly lovely and appreciated.

    With gratitude,
    Sylvia Faye

I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and a few pieces of this china were boxed for the taking. I love tea and I have a collection of tea cups that I use everyday. I just wanted to say hello and have a wonderful day.

  38. Dearest Sandi,

Just a note to say thanks for coming by to say 'hello' at my other newest post. You never fail to be faithful, never fail to cheer.

I have nothing but the deepest admiration and respect for you!

..,(Also,I left a comment earlier on so, I will not re-comment on dear Brent's birthday tea, sufficed to say however, he is a sweetie)!..,

~ Sorry this is tad long, yet from my heart to yours!..,

It has been exceptionally lonely in blogland as of late for me personally Sandi.~ Even though I so appreciate the participation and precious comments each and every time; it just feels like I'm a new blogger all over again as of late. ~ I've loving and carefully visited and thanked each person the past two weeks and sought to always explain and amend always, as best I'm able..,

~(The week prior to last week I apologized, as I was unwell and unable to leave comments.~ Ironically we enjoyed the most comments and participation ever at that time.

Oh well.., I do love and enjoy each and every one. I respect and realize fully that they are busy also.

It's just that although it's been so blessed in my life, yet.., (It has also been exceedingly heartbreaking and excruciatingly painful due to life's circumstances,as of late and especially yesterday). That is likely 'the root cause', of why I feel this way.

~ God is most gracious however Sandi!!

I do NOT feel sorry for myself and am profoundly thankful for all of His provisions!

I love to blog, and most importantly, I love my dear fellow bloggers very much!.., So it's a fresh AND new day ahead!

    Hugs and blessings, Wanda Lee

P.S. ~ You were actually the inspiration for my, 'Compassionate Blogger Award'; thank you so much for accepting what comes form the heart dear lady, in an 'award free' blog!
