Pink Saturday

Hello bloggerettes and welcome to my Pink Saturday post!
I honestly didn't know what to share today because I seem to be running out of pink, can you believe it? Well, not really, I just didn't know what to share today that would be interesting and then it hit me!

What could be more pink or enticing or scrumptious than Rhubarb pie?
So I cut myself a slice of pie and poured myself a cup of coffee and took some pictures.

I've used my pink floral dessert plate and teacup and saucer from Eaton's. I got this pretty set of dishes just before Eatons closed their stores here in Canada. I don't know whether you girls in the States have ever heard of Eatons. It was a large chain of department stores with their own catalogue, much like Sears. I shopped from both the Sears and Eatons catalogues right up until Eatons closed in the early 2000's.

Mmmm, Rhubarb pie is my favourite! There are two things I get a craving for this time of year; maple cream and rhubarb pie!
Warning: The following pictures will cause a craving for rhubarb pie, so brace yourself!
This delectable pinkness will have you going out to get rhubarb and baking a pie for you and your family, I'm sure.

Ooohh, just look at all the scrumptious pink syrup oozing from the pie! Isn't it an amazing colour?

The soft glow of the pink pillar candle on its crystal candle holder just sets everything to sparkling. Is your mouth watering yet?

Now, I want you to know that I usually put my slice of rhubarb pie into a bowl and heat it up then drizzle cream over it. Hubby likes his with vanilla ice cream. But to showcase all the pinkness I placed it on my pretty plate without any embellishment.
Hope you have enjoyed my pinkaliciousness today! Those of you on diets, I hope I have not caused you to stumble.

Now, please take some time to go see Beverly @ http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
and her party of pinkies for an exclusive peek into almost two hundred participants sharing their pinkness. Wishing you all a wonderful pink weekend.

NOTE: Please join me on Tuesday for Tea Time Tuesday!

  12. Happy Pink. Your lovely pink dishes match your blog background. My mom used to make rhubard pie for my dad. Unfortunately no one else in the family likes it so I have never made one. It sure is pretty though on your pretty plates. The candle and roses add a special tough.

And when I mentioned the maple creme you were talking about, he almost sobbed. You could have served him his portion on a paper plate and he still would have been so happy. :).
