Spiritual Sundays

Hello and welcome once again to Spiritual Sundays!

Today is America's birthday and it will be celebrated this weekend with amazing fireworks, cookouts, parades, etc...
Canada also celebrated her birthday this past week and we too watched the fireworks all across this great nation.
We remember and thank God for the men and women who have gone to war so that we might live in freedom. Many gave their lives so that we are able to live in freedom and victory today!

But let us remember, there is One greater than all of those dear souls; Jesus Christ! He died in our place and gave Himself for us so that we could live in freedom from sin. When Christ went to the cross for you and me, He took upon Himself all of our sin; hatred, filth, greed, poverty, sicknesses, etc.... Freedom from sin is the greatest freedom of all!
Who could be more free than the one who is free in the depths of his soul? And let us remember not to live selfishly because of our freedom, but to honour Him in everything we do!

So, celebrate this weekend! But let us remember the One Who gave all He had so that we can be truly free! Praise the Name of Jesus!

Christ came to give us liberty
By dying in our place;
Now with new freedom we are bound
To share His love and grace. - D. De Haan

FREEDOM DOESN'T GIVE US THE RIGHT TO DO WHAT WE PLEASE, BUT TO DO WHAT PLEASES GOD.
