Roses for A Blue Lady

Serenity is a solitary cup of tea; pleasure is sharing it with another. ~ Victoria magazine

Hello my lovely friends!

I have had a very busy month and it's about to get busier. With all my appointments and surgery coming up next week, I'm sure you can just imagine.

Today I am sharing these beautiful pink roses that I arranged in a container that some Easter hydrangeas came in.

The hydrangeas were this same shade of pink but they didn't last long so I plopped the roses in it and they look nice I think.

I'm not really blue and anyone who really knows me also knows that I prefer pink but my tea set is blue today. Hence the title of my post.

Every once in a while I bring out my Blue Willow teapot and teacup. They are such classics and the Old Britain Castles mixes well with them.

And speaking of blue, I thought I would bring you up to date on my youngest son's cat that he adopted about a year ago.

Merlin is a Russian Blue and he was a few months old when he was found on the streets, frightened and starving, with a broken hip. They are not sure how the poor kitty came to be living on the streets. When my son went to the Humane Society looking for a kitten to adopt, Merlin stole his heart. Merlin had gotten neutered and had a cast on his hip. Actually, my son and Merlin both just celebrated their birthdays. Doesn't Merlin look like a contented kitty? He has grown into a very big cat and is great company. I love happy endings, don't you?

Well, that's my news for today. I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Don't forget to count your blessings. I'm sure Merlin is.

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

  3. Your blue teapot and teacups look so homey and very Anne of Green Gable-ish to me. I think Marilla might have enjoyed a Blue Willow teapot. Pink roses are my favourites. I'll be thinking of you as you prepare for your upcoming surgery date.

  4. What a sweet post Sandi and I know that your days ahead will be better ones because the "Lord is directing your steps and making them sure"! Merlin looks very contented there. Sometimes we think we would love a pet but we know the work and expense and say - not now. They can bring a lot of joy too! Your roses and table setting are lovely with your teapot!

  5. You have put together a beautiful pink bouquet! What a pretty shade of pink. I have a blue willow teacup (thrift store find), and I just love your sweet teapot! Such a charming set. Merlin looks like he has always lived a life of luxury. It's nice when a pet adoption works out so well. What a handsome cat he is!

  7. Today when I was at Sam's I saw the neatest magazine about roses and tea. I flipped through it and it was lovely. That said, your pics are better!

  8. Your blue and white transferwares blend together beautifully and look great with the pretty pink roses. I have a set of 10 Blue Willow tea sets acquired from various thrift stores. I don't really need another teapot, but I'd definitely bring home a Blue Willow teapot if it crosses my path during my treasure hunts.

Glad to hear that Merlin is doing well--he's the Anne of Green Gables of cats!

  9. Your roses, teacups and teapot and son's pretty kitty cat made for such was a wonderful post.

Funny I have been looking at pics of my Romeo kitty (RIP.) Been missing him lately. I think it's because the white daffodils that my husband planted on his burial site have bloomed.

    Have a blessed day.

  19. Hello sweet lady. I saw both you and Carolyn's comments on Victoria's FB page when they featured her gardens recently. I'm so happy she finally got the exposure she deserves for all the hard work they put into their property.
I haven't pulled out my Blue Willow pot for a while but the kettle's on and maybe I should join you for a blue tea.

  23. I think anyone who adopts an animal has such a good heart. Merlin looks very healthy now.
I also adopted a stray cat from my neighborhood where different neighbors was feeding him. I thought he needed a permanent loving home so I brought him in and we are best friends

  24. Sandi, I will keep you in my prayers for your surgery. I don't own any Blue Willow, but it is a classic. We've found some pieces in the estate sale I'm helping with, but it's not selling real well. Merlin sure does look like a contented kitty! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
