No Place Like Home #1
Home is where friendships are formed and families are grown;
Where joy is shared and true love is known;
Where memories are made and seeds of life are sown.
This is the place that people call home. ~ Author unknown
Hello dear friends and welcome to my first No Place Like Home Party!
If you read my post last Thursday then you know that I have combined two parties into one and you may share anything that is home related. What used to be Tea Time Tuesday and HOME is now called No Place Like Home.
Before I go any further, I want to thank all of my friends who have faithfully participated in, visited and left comments at my Tea Time Tuesday party the past six years. It is all of you who have made my tea party so successful. You are all so very dear to me and I am so happy we have gotten to know one another over a cup of tea and conversation! I invite you all to join me here at No Place Like Home.
The other day I shared my newly acquired tea things in one of my all-time favourite colours. If you missed that post you may find it here.
I enjoyed my first cup of tea in this cup with a tea biscuit and some cheese.
And if you would like to have it, here is my recipe for tea biscuits. This one never fails me.
TEA BISCUITS
Sift together -
2 cups of flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp of salt
2 tsp sugar
Cut in 1/3-1/2 cup shortening
Make a well and pour in 1 cup of milk.
Stir altogether with a fork until mixed but not over mixed.
Turn the dough out on to a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times. Then roll out thick and cut with a glass or cookie cutter. Place biscuits on a cookie sheet and brush the tops with cream.
Bake for 10-11 minutes in a 450 degree oven.
Now I am wondering what you are creating in your home to make it a wonderful place for your family and friends to "come home to." Please link up below and be sure to link back to me so others may visit my lovely participants. I will be doing features next week too so that's another reason to link back to me.
Have a wonderful week everyone and the Lord bless you!
Sharing from my heart~ Sandi

I'm so very happy to join in your new party, Sandi. Thank you for your continued faithfulness as a hostess. Six years of parties is a huge commitment, and we all have been blessed by your willingness to host. Those tea biscuits look like the epitome of comfort food, perfect for the cooler days ahead. And the pink and aqua are so pretty together. xo Deborah

Sandi:
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that pretty robin's egg blue teapot again and your yummy biscuits. To bad we can't pass those around here! I am right with you in time today although I had weird problems with the sizes of my letters changing on me and not being able to change it back. Strange. I can't seem to move up some letters either so will just leave them! Must be Monday morning! Have a great week.
Funny how most of us are choosing a teacup for our link photo - out of habit :-) - but I am happy to see a wider range of topics for your new meme. Thanks for hosting and enjoy the gorgeous new aqua tea set.
ReplyDeleteI love your teacups. A beautiful colour. The biscuits look delicious.

ReplyDeletewhat a nice idea to chance Teatime Tuesday into No Place like Home. I am happy that I arrived in time for the first blogpost for this sweet party. Your wonderful new teaset looks great. As I can see the charme of the Teatime Tuesday stays, only the topic changed a bit. Thank you for sharing and hosting this wonderful event.

ReplyDeleteHi Sandi, I am so glad to be joining you again. I just loved it when you had Home. It was such a great party. Since I don't do tea, at least not the right way, I haven't been able to for some time. I read that you were adding the new party to Teatime from Debbie and I am so excited. I promise that I will start doing tea the appropriate way and join in every time. Your tea set is exquisitely beautiful..Happy Tuesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteP. S. Sandi, I forgot to mention that I love the poem about Home that you have chosen. It certainly describes the meaning and how we all feel about our homes..Judy
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed joining up with your party this week ... what fun to visit so many new-to-me bloggers.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful day, Sandi!

I am so happy to be back in your blog party and your change makes it so much easier to post about because so many of us love to create anything ( recipes, crafts, home-making skills, etc. ) towards making our homes cozy, hospitable, and the best home for our families. I loved 'Tea-Time Tuesdays' but my ability and desire to collect so many teacups was waning, and my desire to show how I use my teatimes to make my home a pleasant place to be is more important. You've given me the opportunity to again indulge my passion for celebrating Tuesdays in blogland again, thank-you ! Plus, Your personal story of your life-long desire to simply ( not so simple I know )be a good and godly wife and mother, relishing your time doing just that, is inspirational. I have one granddaughter who desires to be a very good mommy and keep her home well. I am going to show her your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to be a part of your "revised" blog party dear Sandi! And oh my, what a delicious color of teapot you found! Oh how I love turquoise, and such a lovely set to have! I have saved your recipe for tea biscuits too, they look so soft and perfect for a dollop of homemade jam! The wonderful poem you started your post off with is one I need to save and remember. It is beautiful. Hope you have a beautiful and wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful aqua Gracie China tea set, and your tea biscuits look like they could melt in your mouth. Your new No Place Like Home tea party is a beautiful theme. Happy November!
ReplyDeleteTeal is a favorite color of mine so naturally I'm drawn to your lovely tea set. Or do you call it aqua? Or turquoise? I missed adding to the party because my computer was having fits but at least I can get around and see all the lovely homes here! I'll be back next week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tea set! and biscuits too! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Sandi, I love your new theme. And your gorgeous tea set. One of your biscuits would go well with my hot chocolate!
ReplyDeleteReading through your post, especially about home, I can't help but think of all the people living on the streets of our city who have no real home. I want to remember to always reach out with a smile, a flower, a cookie, a book, to share what I know for sure, His amazing love brings us home to ourselves and HIm and there is no place like home. Sorry Sandi, your post just made me reflect. Hugs and wishes for a beautiful Saturday.
ReplyDeleteEveryone deserves to have a loving home, Nikki, and it is good to reflect on all that we have. We must never take our blessings for granted. And if we are able to share with others then we should do that. You are right, in Him we have found the best home of all. Glad you shared, dear friend.
