Life is like a teacup
to be filled to the brim
and enjoyed with friends. ~ Unknown
Welcome friends to my first Tea Time in February!
Did anyone else watch the game last night? I watched the entire SuperBowl with my hubby and I still don't understand how they play the game. I only know when someone scored a touchdown and that the Sea Hawks won. Anyone else out there like me?
Anyway, enough about football and on to tea!
With romance in the air I thought it would be nice to introduce some hearts and flowers this week.
Valentine's Day is on the way so I'm using some pink and red today.
Pink roses on teacups and red hearts adorning the other, as well as some lovely pink tulips, set the stage for my theme.
Joining our party is a lovely Royal Albert teacup that was a wedding gift many years ago.
A Regency teacup; a gift from a very thoughtful friend. I have named her Luella after the dear lady who gifted her to me.
And my Valentine teacup made by Gracie China.
Which teacup would you like?
Luscious pink tulips grace the table with a whisper of springtime.
For our sweet today, I have made a chocolate fudge cake.
The cake is sitting on a Masons' plate which I found thrifting.
I usually make my chocolate cake from scratch but as I was pressed for time, I cheated and used a mix instead.
Silver spoons for our tea time.
Would you like a piece of cake with your tea?

Sandi, your pink is so pretty. We had a chocolate layer cake last week -- so delicious! I, too, don't get football, but watched it with my husband anyway. He lost me at the beginning trying to explain 2-point conversion! Have a wonderful week, and thank you for hosting.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi
ReplyDeleteI'm not into football either and didn't watch the game but do know who won.

ReplyDeleteHello Sandi, I'm going to have to make decorations and perhaps put a couple of hearts on a tea cup for my pictures, it isa shame but I don't travel with tea cups. Yes, we are still away and only as of a few days ago did the weather start to warm up. I love your little heart it is so perfect. Chocolate cake is inviting either from a box or by scratch, looks yummy.

ReplyDeleteFirst time linking up here Sandi:)I found you thru Artful Affirmations. I am so with you about football-I did enjoy the game though. First time I sat thru a whole game too. Your photos are gorgeous and I especially love the hearts teacup!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to be able to link with you today - a very cold -2C on the Island.
ReplyDeleteChocolate cake, from a mix or from scratch - who could resist it? Not this blogger! Do you know, I have the same Mason plate and it is what started me on my red transferware collection.
I look forward to visiting the other bloggers here, many of whom are already familiar to me. Thank you!
Oh sweet Sandi, I just came back to your lovely tea party again, I didn't want to miss it with my Valentine's table!
ReplyDeleteHugs and thank you again,
FABBY
Sandi:
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you are having a special blog party and thumbnail for next week and I will add to what I just posted!
Sandi, all three cups are darling! I can not just pick one. lol! the mason plate is like the set I found for $20 at a thrift. I love them! Four plates and lots of saucers. Salad and teacup size. No cups though. I'm happy that I get to join today!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Oh my, be still my heart! I love your Valentine teacup and I'm in love with tulips! All of your guests have gorgeous features, I'm off to take a peek! Wonderful party and by the way, I'm a such a teacup fan!
ReplyDeleteJust finished a cup of chocolate Kusmi tea and some decadent chocolate cake. Your Gracie cup and saucer are the second I've read about today. Angela, of Tea with Friends, has a teapot to match that was given to her by her mother last year. She just found six other cup and saucer sets that are similar but a little different in style. How lucky you both are!
ReplyDeleteIt is so much fun to set a table for tea this time of the year. Valentin's Day decorating and baking brings me so many precious memories, and your tea time today is very special. I do very much like that heart teacup !
ReplyDeleteI will gladly sport your new party badge! Angels to you this week!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh, I couldn't choose a cup, I can NEVER choose!
