Perhaps it is while drinking tea that I most of all enjoy the sense of leisure. ~ George Gissing
Welcome to Tea Time dear friends~ Thank you so much for your wonderful support last week! You made my Anniversary Tea Party such a success with your participation, lovely comments, and visits. You really are wonderful friends!
Today I am sharing another Christmas gift I received. Before the holidays, I had shared my new Staffordshire teacup trio which I had found at an antique shop.
Well, Hubby went back and got me a second set. I just love this rich green transferware! A charming scene is depicted on it and of course it is made in England. Now I have a cup for you and a cup for me.
If you have been joining me for any length of time then you know how much I love transferware.
My sweet hubby arrived home from work with these bright yellow tulips. Tulips remind me of springtime and if you're anxiously awaiting Spring like I am, then you know there are only about seven and a half weeks to go!
Tea began as a medicine and grew into a beverage. ~ Okakura Kakuzo
So I set out our tea with my tulips and I hope you enjoy it.
With tulips one must have a birdie or two so I'm putting my birdie teapot to use today.
A cup of Twinings Earl Grey.
Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.
Thank you for your company today. If you have a teacup, coffee mug, teapot, or tablescape to share I invite you to link up and join me for Tea Time. I love seeing Tea Rooms too.
Wishing you a beautiful day filled with joy!

I adore cream teas -- and transfer ware as well although my preference is the blue but the green is so "springlike" -- it's beautiful!!!! I'll be back a bit later to link up my tea this week! Love the tulips -- there weren't any at the market this week -- sigh!
ReplyDeleteThe trouble with having a love of transfer ware is you end up with too many dishes-- all the different colors and patterns are so tempting! I really enjoyed your springtime tea, thank you!
ReplyDeleteSo refreshing! I love this post! The green transfer ware is amazing and uniquely different. Love to sit and have tea here with you.

What fun to see green transfer ware. I see blue, brown and red often but seldom find green so it was nice to see some. And the yellow flowers just perked up my day! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI see you are all set for St. Patrick's day and tea. Lovely transferware, I enjoyed your set so much and your cream tea looks magnificent and delectable. I enjoyed your little tulip bowl filled with lemon curd, did you make it yourself? I made batches of it awhile back and the last bottle spoiled and I was saving it to take away on my trip down South. Oh well, I enjoyed yours just as much. Have a blessed week.... we are getting snow down here.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful of your husband to add a trio as part of your Christmas! This is a lovely tea table with the green transferware. Your yellow tulips add the perfect touch. Thank you for hosting this party!

Hello Sandi,
ReplyDeleteYour newest set of transferware is fab! Oh my, but now you really have a lot to create with. And you are moving into green! I have a pink set, the Old British Castle series. I love it too. But when I see sets in blue, green and even lavender I wish I could have them all!
Your home looks lovely, and your cheery yellow flowers really brighten up the winter.
Hugs,
Terri
Lovely gifts - teaset & tulips!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the earl grey tea - starts my day off just right =)
This looks like a lovely teatime. These green cups are so rich in color! They remind us of the green to come and are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHello, Your cream tea sounds wonderful. Do you have a recipe for your tea biscuits?
ReplyDeleteJust lovely, Sandi! And, I am so eager for spring! The cold has really gotten both me and my husband down this year. Tea helps - and beautiful transferware delights the soul in your green tones - with tulips, too! I'm counting the weeks!
ReplyDeleteJoy!

Blessings to you, in all your green transferware glory! Yes - quite lovely with thoughts of spring! Your hubby is a winner with those yellow tulips, too! A perfect teascape - the white offsets your green with their quiet country image quite nicely. The cream filled biscuit makes my mouth water - love clotted cream, though it doesn't like my belly. :(
