"Love and friendship are the best sweeteners of tea." ~ Author unknown
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and your week is off to a great start. It doesn't look much like Spring outside right now with the fresh blanket of snow we received last night but Spring is coming!
"No matter how long the winter, Spring is sure to follow." ~ Proverb
I am in love with springtime and I savour every moment! All of nature is waiting in anticipation for what is to come...
It is a glorious season of renewal and soon the songbirds will be back and I look forward to hearing their birdsong in the trees behind our home. Another thing I especially enjoy is the sound of the spring peepers singing.
Soon bright flowers will be putting on a show in their beds and the grass will turn green. The trees will be showing off their lacy boughs and bees and butterflies will be flying about.
You know Spring is here when you see new lambs skipping about in the fields and the cattle are grazing again. It's a wondrous season and I thank God for it.
Now, I invite you to my table.
Springtime means the birdies will be nesting. Eggs snuggle up in the wee bird's nest my son found for me.
Under the cloche, I have my Lady Carlyle, Serena, and Princess teacups waiting for the Victoria Garden tea to steep.
I am using my Sadler teapot today which I won in a giveaway from my friend Wendy at Once Upon A Rose Garden. It is covered with lovely Spring flowers and appropriately, is called Spring Crocus.
This time of year, one also thinks of wee chicks and bunnies as well as colourful Easter eggs.
Cup cakes or fairy cakes go well with tea.
My Serena teacup holds one of the fairy cakes. I must confess that Hubby had to get the cakes at the grocery store because I'm still not up to baking.
My Violets teacup also holds a cake. The frosting is piped on in pink and white with bits of lavender. These fairy cakes have a surprise inside; a lovely strawberry jam. Perfect for fairies and tea friends.
"When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies." ~ J.M. Barrie- Peter Pan
Now let's enjoy some tea, shall we? This tea is a ceylon black tea with china green gunpowder, vanilla, rose and lavender flowers. Lovely!
Thank you for coming to tea today. Your presence always makes it that much more special. A Happy Spring to you!
"For flowers that bloom about our feet;
For tender grass so fresh and sweet;
For song of bird and hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear and see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee!" ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Do you have a favourite teacup/teapot or mug that you would like to share with us today? I would love to see it and I'm sure others would too!
If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too:
Hot Apple Cider, Hot Chocolate, Lemonade, Iced Tea or iced coffee, or punch in a lovely bowl.

Hello Sandi
ReplyDeleteYour tea table is pretty and full of promise for the things we like best about spring.
It is lightly snowing here right now but the bulbs pushing through the ground don't mind, they know the sun will get warmer over the next couple of weeks.
Judith

I appreciate your inspiration to SAVOUR the moments of my life, thus reminding me of my many blessings.
ReplyDeleteWhen you mentioned this time of lambs, I am reminded I have new lambs here and they literally spring into the air, twist and land only to leap and run, run, run! True joy of life, and a glory to behold. So much of creation points to our God, a God who longs for us to worship Him and take joy in Him. Yes indeed,savour the moment.
Hello Sandi,
ReplyDeleteYes, one more day! Spring is popping up all around my house. Daffodils, and forsythia are in bloom. Even many of our trees are blooming. Soon, your snow will be gone for good! Yay!

Happy Spring!

Hi Sandi, what a lovely tea, it is so pretty, I won't be joining this time, we were in the city for the weekend and just got home. Tried to have tea in the Library Room at the Royal York but you need a reservation -booked 5 weeks in advance. I'm sorry to read that you aren't feeling well yet. God bless... and I mean that
ReplyDeleteSandi your tea setting is just delightful. So delicate and pretty. I love all of your tea cups and that china had me at hello. Do you mind sharing the pattern?? I would love to share a cup of tea with you in this most charming setting.

Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI know I'm late but wanted to pop by and tell you how much I enjoyed your spring tea. All of your lovely spring items have gotten me in the mood for spring! We have over two feet of snow at home, so will probably see snow when we go home in about two weeks. Hopefully I can join you next week for tea time using my Florida finds. Praying you are feeling better!
Nancy
Blessings to you, milady, and joy! I'm visiting from Pink Saturday and see that you've been feeling down. May a flurry of pinks brighten you day - and teatime, too! Ed and I have just begun to share about his pain management issues with sciatica and arthritis in the hip. In addition to the therapy, we started using essential oils to manage the pain and decrease the stress which had him put on blood pressure meds which caused further ills. After a number of months using some of the oils products, he got off the meds and keeps the pain at bay. My post today shares a link with more information.
ReplyDeleteA larger problem I have at the moment is NOT lusting after those amazing cupcakes! The frosting looks luscious - so light and fluffy! Decidedly on my "don't do" list - but I daresay, once in a while with a sweet tea setting as you've shared here, such a delicacy will make me feel "pink" all over!
Joy!
Kathy
I haven't a single tea cup - but your post and the post of ... you know, I can't find the post I was just looking at. Not off Beverly's list and not off using my browser back button. Anyway, she had a stack of teacups used as a vase. Where in the world did that post go? Between the two of you, I want teacups now!
ReplyDeleteYour knick knacks are lovely and those cupcakes look yummy and beautiful. I don't know why you're not up to baking - but hope things get better and better for you. I enjoyed my visit! Happy Pink Saturday.
I'm link #47 and if you should visit my blog by way of this link, scroll down to see my Kids & Kupcakes post on the front page of my blog. Thanks, Jenn
Just in case you're not back over on my blog - thanks for your comments and I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. Ouch! I empathize with you easily on that!
ReplyDeleteI pray the Lord grants you a quick and thorough end to your recovery!
Take care! Jenn
Just beautiful, Sandi! My daughter also has the Spring Crocus teapot and it's so pretty. I love your plates with the petite roses - very cheerful.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend,
Robin
