Tea Time Tuesday

"The morns are meeker than they were,

The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.
The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on." ~ Emily Dickinson

Hello friends and welcome to my first tea party in November! Once November arrives, you know what that means! Christmas is really in the forefront and I cannot wait to get to the decorating.

But before I get to decorating, let's have a cup of tea.

The other evening I discovered a new David's Tea in town. Of course I wandered in and looked over the variety of teas they offered. One tea in particular caught my eye, or rather my sense of smell, Stormy Night. I was captivated by it and so I bought a package and I am delighted!

This is a lovely loose leaf black tea with chocolate, cinnamon, coconut, and vanilla. It smells incredible!

I was also delighted to find many young people in buying tea. Perhaps tea is becoming fashionable again on our little Island.

So won't you join me for a cuppa and a Madeleine? I would like to sprinkle some powdered sugar over the cookies but Hubby doesn't care for it.

I am using my Johnson Bros. Friendly Village today.

Hubby started me on this pattern which is wonderful for this time of year.

The rose is out of town as the poem above states so I am getting mine at the grocery store these days.

"Usefulness is not impaired by imperfection. You can drink from a chipped cup." ~ Greta Nagel

I received several pieces of this pattern including the teapot for Christmas last year and for Mother's Day he gifted me with a few more. Some pieces are vintage and some are new. I have been waiting to use it and today is the day!

Tea is a hug in a cup. ~ Patrick Jane - "The Mentalist"

The Madeleines are lovely with a cup of tea!

Pretty soon, you'll be seeing these popping up on my posts!

I am delighted you have stopped by for tea today! Your presence always makes my tea party that much more special.

We continue to pray for the victims of the superstorm Sandy last week. I pray you are all safe today and your needs are being met. God be with you all!

I am happy to see all your tea things, whether you have shared them before or not. This tea party is all about sharing your joy of tea time and any thoughts you might have on the subject. You may be as creative, fancy, or as laid back with your tea time as you wish!

Do you have a favourite teacup/teapot or mug that you would like to share with us today? I would love to see it and I'm sure others would too! If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too:
Hot Apple Cider
Hot Chocolate
Iced Tea or iced coffee
Punch in a lovely bowl.
No alcoholic beverages please.

The Tea Time Tuesday button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! To be sure everyone has a visit, it would be nice if you visited the participant before and after your name. Inlinkz is available below for you to sign up for my tea party.

  10. Hi Sandi, Thanks for the tea in the Friendly Village cups. I love that pattern and only have the teacups/saucers and salad plates that I use for dessert plates. I've been thinking about getting the teapot. I was trying not to get hooked on this pattern and not get too many pieces of it, but after seeing your pretty post I think it's a lost cause for me now. *winks* Gina

  15. Hello Sandi
Your Friendly Village is a nice pattern and looks like a Victorian tea set.
Lucky you to get a David's Tea on the island, I have to stock up when we head north to our daughter's house. Every season they come up with new blends. Beth and I are both hooked on the pumpkin chai.
I too will soon be digging out the winter/Christmas decor. And to think our American friends have not even had their Thanksgiving yet!

  16. Beautiful tea set Sandi, your blog is lovely and I like the quotes and pictures on the side bar, beautiful. Best Wishes Karen.

Your tea set is lovely! I like that pattern. I can't wait till Christmas too. We put up the tree, the garlands, and the mantel decor this weekend. hubs and I had a burst of energy. I still have to tweak it but, when it is there in front of me is when it is easiest to think about what to tweak.LOL Thanks for hosting!

  33. Dear Sandi, Your tea for this week is so beautiful and your Friendly Village china make it perfect for this season. You have a very smart hubby to pick out that pattern! 35. Oh my gosh Sandi I just found a small pitcher at a thrift store with this pattern today. I had no idea what it was but I loved the covered bridge scene. It also has the most beautiful scallopy top edge. I will be showing it in a post on Thursday. I would love for you to hop over and see it then. Wonder if it's old or new? Any way to tell? Now that I see yours I think I want more, more, more! lol!

  39. Hi Sandi: This is one of my all time favorite patterns. It works so well for the fall. Just beatuiful! Blessings, Martha

  40. Gorgeous tea set and yummy madeleines. Love the poem dear Sandi. Great photos. Thank you for hosting yet, another lovely tea party. Big hugs,

  41. Exciting tea you find in the store. Seasoning Seems to be a good mix. Perfect for a chilly autumn day. I have read so much about Madeleine cakes. But yet, I have not tasted them. Friendly Village is perfect this time of year. I use my teacup often. I wish you a nice day! Zinnia

  42. Kicking myself - once again - for passing up the opportunity to take home a full setting for 12 of Friendly Village only last year. OH! How I wish the cash had been at hand - but, alas - it was not. I loved it all displayed at the thrift store where I found it - at a steal of a price, too - but not enough of a deal for my purse at the time. But, the Lord gives me my deals of the day in His good pleasure and due season - and I get to enjoy your setting out of Friendly Village today - such a welcoming and warm setting on this unseasonably snowy day in South Jersey. Much to be retreating in my mind and heart about today. A bit of cozy is doing me quite well. Prayerful that the weather normalizes by my daughter's wedding next week!!

  43. Hi Sandi.....I love your quote by Patrick Jane and I like the way he's always drinking tea wherever he goes in the show...priority 1...put the kettle on!!! Make a cup of Tea!!
    Sounds like me.
    have a good day
