I am reading Randy Alcorn's book, "Heaven" and I read this passage just the other day which filled me with such peace.
"Every time Jewish people greet each other with Shalom, they express the God-given cry of the heart to live in a world where there's no sin, suffering, or death. There was once such a world, enjoyed by only two people and some animals. But there will again be such a world..."
I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to that place. "In my Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." ~ John 14: 2-3 {NAS}
Then shall I see, and hear, and know
All I desired or wished below;
And every power find sweet employ
In that eternal world of joy. ~ Issac Watts

Shalom to you Sandi on a thoughtful reminder of God's promises.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi, I too look forward to living with God someday. God is good and has blessed me so! Thanks for sharing from your heart, Sandi.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this, Sandi. I read that book several years ago and thought it was one of the best books I had ever read. I recently read it again. I wish everyone would read it. So many things are happening in our world that I believe there can be no doubt we are living in the last days. The last days of this earth as we know it that is. Thank God the real last days will last forever. Wow.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Charlotte
Heaven -- what a wonderful experience to look forward to. I have a sweet Sarah already there. Like the song, "I want to see my Savior first of all." I think Fanny Crosby wrote it.
ReplyDeleteHave you read Randy Alcorn's "Safely Home?" One of my all-time favorite books -- starting with the dedication page.
Isn't this a small world. I just picked this book up yesterday from missionary friends who were visiting our church. He said it was a very good - correct - and comprehensive book on Heaven. My husband took it with him today while accompanying his mother to a procedure at the hospital.
ReplyDeleteOur friend intrigued me asking where I expected to spend eternity - then he directed me to search out scripture on 'new heaven and new earth'. I am fascinated to read this book to dig deeper!
God Bless,
Kathy
