Tea Time Tuesday

Hello my dear friends and welcome to my 29th Tea Time Tuesday!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I am pretty much laid up these days with my back and even though my son and his family are here visiting from Vancouver, we are having a wonderful time in spite of my back problems! Precious memories are being made for which I am so very thankful! I am also thrilled to learn that the new grandbaby on the way is a girl. The first girl in our family after seven boys; my three sons and four little grandsons!

Again this tea party has been pre-posted because I am away from the computer. I will not be available to link you up again this week other than the hostesses of the other tea parties; sorry about that. I will visit you all as I am able though.
Next week, my son and his family will have returned to their home in Vancouver and things will be back to normal, so I will be posting as usual and able to link you up once again. Thank you for sticking with me!

Please come in and sit yourself down. I am serving tea in this lovely Royal Stafford teacup which was a wedding shower gift from my brother many years ago. The pattern is called Buckingham and is made of fine bone china in England. I love the gold pattern on the teacup; very ornate. I have sugar cookies and the tea is standing by in a new teapot. The story behind the teapot is one which I will share with you today.

A few weeks ago, my hubby and I went out to breakfast at one of our favourite tea rooms. I had found a teapot which matched a pair of lovely candle sticks that my youngest son had gifted me with and my sweet hubby surprised me by buying the teapot. He's such a sweet guy!

This pretty bone china teapot is called Rose Bud and it is made by Maxwell and Williams.

View from the top shows off the lovely gold trim.

"Remember the tea kettle - it is always up to its neck in hot water, yet it still sings!" ~ Author unknown The candle sticks and teabag holder are a perfect match.

I love how my roses are the same pink that is in the teapot! I do love my pretty pink roses and they are so full they almost look like peonies!I love playing with teapots, don't you? Not only are they beautiful receptacles to hold tea in but they are lovely used as a vase too!

Over the weekend, Hubby and I enjoyed a cup of tea once again out at the tea room and we also had their famous Raspberry Cream Pie for dessert. Doesn't it look fabulous?

"The perfect temperature for tea is two degrees hotter than just right." ~ Terri Guillemets

I am so glad you stopped by today for Tea Time Tuesday and I hope you have enjoyed your visit. Next week, I will be back to post my tea party as usual and I will be available to link you up. I welcome all my regular participants and all new friends as well!

The following is a prayer which I have kept in the back of my Bible since my children were babies. One could exchange the words 'children' for 'grandchildren' if you like.
A Parent's Prayer
Oh, heavenly Father, make me a better parent {grandparent}. Teach me to understand my children, to listen patiently, to what they have to say, and to answer all their questions kindly. Keep me from interrupting them or contradicting them. Make me as courteous to them as I want them to be to me. Forbid that I should ever laugh at their mistakes or resort to ridicule when they displease me!
Do not let me tempt my child {grandchild} to lie or steal. And guide me, dear God, hour by hour, that I may demonstrate by all I say and do that honesty produces happiness. Reduce, I pray, the meanness in me. And when I am out of sorts, help me, dear Lord, to hold my tongue.
May I be mindful that my children are children, and that I should not expect them to make decisions like adults.
Do not let me rob them of opportunities to wait on themselves and to take the consequences of their decisions.
Bless me with the wisdom to grant them all their reasonable requests, and the courage to deny them privileges I know will do them harm.
Make me fair and just and kind. And fit me, Lord, to be loved and respected and imitated by my children. Amen.

NOTE: I am nearing 300 followers on my blog and who would have thought? I certainly never dreamed that there would be 300 lovely folks interested in my little blog! I consider it quite an honor! So, as soon as I reach the 300 mark, I am going to have a tea-related Giveaway.

Now, please check out my sister tea parties:

Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.
