Welcome to my 25th Tea Time Tuesday, dear friends!
I can hardly believe I have reached this milestone! When I first started my tea party back in January, I had no idea how well it would be received or how long I would be doing it.
Since I began my tea party, there have been fifty-four participants at one time or another. Several other tea parties have popped up as well and we're all having a wonderful time!
I want to thank you all for your lovely comments and contributions. You have each made it all the more enjoyable!
NOTE: I don't watch their TV show but those of you who do, may be aware that Regis and Kelly are hosting their TV show from our fair Island this week.
This past weekend has brought a few celebrities our way including Taylor Swift and Keith Urban. I'm not a country music fan but I hear they put on a good show.
Now on to today's tea party! Since I am hosting my 25th tea party, I thought I would celebrate it with a little bit of Anne today and because of that, my post will be a smidgeon longer than usual. You are all familiar with Anne of Green Gables, right? Well, this is where I live, on Prince Edward Island, home of our infamous Anne!
I will incorporate a few quotes by Anne throughout my post as well as share a few photos of our beautiful Island.
Now, as you know, I like to collect teapots, teacups, and tea-for-one sets. Here is another one of my tea-for-one sets. It has Summer written all over it! It is a soft shade of green with posies and butterflies on it. It is called Garden Botanical and it is made in China. I just know Anne would love it!
I have the matching mugs and a tray as well."Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive ---it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we know all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?" ~ Anne of Green Gables
My Anne doll is the last gift I ever received from my father before he passed away. She's about twelve inches tall with her famous red braids, pinafore, stockings, and boots. Of course she also wears a straw hat upon her sweet head!
Since it is hot outside, I am serving iced tea as well as tea today. These lovely glasses were a set of four that I purchased before I got married. They are adorned with a 24 kt gold floral pattern and they are a good size for iced tea and other cold beverages. Please help yourself; the lemon is standing by."Marilla, isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?" ~ Anne of Green Gables
"Some people go through life trying to find out what the world holds for them only to find out too late that it's what they bring to the world that really counts." ~ Anne of Green Gables
"After all, the only real roses are pink ones. They are the flowers of love and faith." ~ Anne of Green Gables
Green Gables house in Cavendish, PEI.
One of the many lighthouses here on the Island. This is one of our beautiful beaches on the North Shore. PEI is famous not only for our Anne of Green Gables but its beaches and potatoes.
All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.
I hope you have enjoyed your tea today. Thank you for stopping by and helping me celebrate! If you would like to participate in Tea Time Tuesday yourself just let me know in your comment and I will gladly add your link to my post. Just share a favourite teacup, tea pot, or china used in a tea. You may also do coffee, iced tea, or chocolate if you prefer. A scripture verse, poem, or tea quote would also be welcome. Either of the two Tea Time buttons near the top of my sidebar are available for you to use in your post if you wish. As a courtesy, please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit all my lovely participants.
Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.

Anne of Green Gables is such a delightful girl!! I LOVE her. I haven't watched the movies in what seems forever, as we have them on VHS and our VHS player doesn't work. We need to replace them on DVD.
ReplyDeleteThis was such a lovely post. What a beautiful last gift from your dear dad.
The tea for one set is beautiful. And those gold-leaf glasses, wow!!
I'll be putting my post together a bit later today, so I'll let you know when it's up. I love being a part of all the Tuesday tea party fun.
By the way, I would think you should expect a package toward the end of the week. Enjoy!!!

Patti

Hi, Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI love your tea time treasures that you have shared with us. Your island is a beautiful place, and I enjoyed all the wonderful quotes from "Anne of Green Gables". I know the dolls given to you by your sweet father will always hold a special place in your heart. Thank you so much for hostessing us each week! Vicki
I enjoyed this. I love the Anne books and the movies. I enjoyed your pictures and quotes. I have not been to Prince Edward Is. since I was a child . One of my favorite memories is waiting in a long line for the ferry and once we were on it my Dad treated me to a whole wheat muffin with marmelade! It seemed so special to me as a child.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tea set! I love your flowery tea pot and cup, how sweet is that!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Terri

Hi Sandi :) Congratulations on your 25th Tea Time Tuesday Anniversary!! That's fabulous! Please do add my name to your list of participants :)
ReplyDeleteLoved this post. I loved watching the shows on tv of Anne of Green Gables, and my daughter once had some of the books (she may still, not sure) I so wish they would rebroadcast them again.
Warmest hugs to you, Brenda
Hello Sandi
ReplyDeleteMy, we have a large gathering for tea today - how nice.
I loved touring Green Gables when we were on the island one summer but I didn't buy a doll.
PEI potatoes straight from an organic garden are the very best I have ever tasted. I'm sorry to say the ones in bags we get at the grocery market have no flavour at all.
A few friends have said how cute it is that we have blogger tea parties once a week and I've loved every one.
Congratulations on your 25th party, I always enjoy tea with you and our other friends.
Judith
Congratulations Sandi, on your 25th Tea Time Post !
ReplyDeleteYou are a gracious hostess. I always feel at home with you and am encouraged by your quotes comments every week.
It has been far too long since I spent time in PEI. I can still remember walking through Green Gables the first time. Anne was one of my favorite people in story land. I still have all of my Anne books and loved the series and movies. I would have been very happy to be Anne's friend. Think I will start reading those precious stories again.
Many blessings, Pam
Okay, got my post up.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you,
Patti
I think Anne would be very happy with your tea for one pot ... lovely! Fun post!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi, is it too late to join the party? I'll have my post up at 6:00 am Tuesday. I put together a tea/brunch out on my patio. Hope it works out!

ReplyDeleteWonderful post and congratulations on it being your 25th post. I especially love your homemade Anne doll that your father gave you. A special gift indeed. I was a huge fan any story about redheads growing: Anne of Green Gables, Pippi Longstocking, and Orphan Annie. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post for your 25th Tea Time Tuesday. Your tea for one with matching mugs and tray is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe doll your Dad gave you is lovely. I remember reading Anne as a young girl. For some reason the part where she tries to dye her hair and it turns green really stands out for me. :-)
Hi Sandi!
ReplyDeleteWOW 25 that is HUGE! You go my sweet friend!
Oh and I love all of your goodies but especially LOVE Anne. I am a huge, huge fan of Anne of Green Gables..I have read ALL the books, seen the entire PBS series and then bought all the VCR tapes way back when! I have such fond memories and love a few of her frases, like *bosoom Friends*, *Kindred spirits* and on and on I could go! The story is such a sweet, clean and lovely tale!
Happy Tea,
Lorena
