for her link party to share my one of my favourite Bible verses. I have many favourite verses but this one has helped me through some tough times.
Whenever my hubby and I are out at the beach, we often see an eagle or two soaring overhead.
It is a most wonderful sight because we don't have many eagles on the Island. We are always in awe whenever we see one. They are such majestic birds, flying freely up there in the sky; so powerful and so in control.
They always bring to mind one of my favourite verses from Isaiah 40:31~ "Those who hope in the Lord, they will soar on wings as eagles."
We all have at one time or another gone through a difficult time. Trials are just a part of life. But it's how we handle the trial that shows us what we're made of.
Adversity does not perfect character. It reveals character. It exposes what is happening inside of us.
Oftentimes, we are simply too weak to do much on our own. We must turn to God who knows the end result and brings every trial whether big or small into a blessing which will enable us to be better and stronger than we were before. He always has our best interest at heart. We must learn to trust Him and give Him praise for He is taking care of us!
Sharing from my heart~ Sandi
I had not read that verse before but it is written on my heart today, thank you Sandi!

Stopping by from I Owe It All To Him. That is a beautiful verse and one that I will now think of when I see a beautiful bird flying. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite scriptures my friend.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you today and your hubby, Ron!
God is able!

ReplyDeleteamen girl..I keep saying,,God is more interested in my character, than my happiness...When it is all said and done, I don't want to be known as a spoiled brat, a willful child, but one that has submitted to her Precious Loving Father's will, trusting Him all the way!!
Beautiful post, Sandi. I love how you've picked a gorgeous eagle picture to go with that wonderful and well-known scripture. Thanks for your sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI was HOPING that someone would post this verse, and you did!!! I love it so...
Years ago, I had a director who presented me with a pin out of the blue and it was an eagle and she told me about this verse...When the meeting was over, I went home and found it in my Bible and prayed on it....It has been a favorite ever since...It is powerful and so amazing.
Your words are so inspiring....I have to go back and read your post again about character...it is so perfect...
Hugs and blessings,
Cindy

I love this verse too. Another of my favorites is a blessing prayer, 3 John 2.
ReplyDeleteWe sometimes see Eagles nesting on telephone poles. I think of that verse too. I thank God for the grace He gives us each day.
ReplyDeleteAdversity does not perfect character, it reveals character. So true...I am shaking my head in agreement over the verse you selected. It's one that could have easily been mine...so hard to choose. Thanks for sharing from your heart. Have a blessed weekend, Patty @ seeds of faith
ReplyDeleteI was gonna comment on the quote about character. Is that your orignal quote and do you mind if I use it in a blog button? It must have touched others as it did me as I noticed others commented also on it.
ReplyDeleteBe Blessed today!Margaret
Wonderful, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI love that verse!! And, I agree, eagles are SO majestic-looking.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
Love,
Patti
Adversity reveals character...there is a massive thought in that phrase...great post...olive♥
ReplyDeleteI'll have to stop by and pay your friends a visit on Sunday. I've been posting a memory verse every Sunday...I think that would fit in nicely to Spiritual Sunday, don't you? Thanks for sharing this. I love your willingness to share SCripture with us. I actually did a cross-stitch quite awhile ago of an eagle flying over the mountains with that same verse that you quoted :) :) I'll comment more on this post later tonight. The heat is tiring me out today :) :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteI have to quote this when I get weary. Out loud with faith. lol
ReplyDeleteMay we all soar.

This verse has had a lot of meaning for me. In recent years, I have waited on the Lord as my husband battle's cancer. Every time I see an eagle I remember it and God's faithfulness. He is there to give us the strength we need. Thanks for sharing!
