An Award and A Recipe

Good morning my dear bloggy friends~
What do you do with your left overs from a Canadian Thanksgiving? Well, I make cold and hot sandwiches, and a yummy casserole from the turkey.
But what about all that cranberry sauce? I make my own cranberry sauce and I would rather not freeze it so yesterday I made a pan of Cranberry Squares for last night's Bible Study.
They are so easy and so good!
Take any crumbly oatmeal recipe for date squares and subsitute the dates with cranberry sauce.
Here is the recipe I use-

CRANBERRY SQUARES

MIX- 1 1/2 cups each rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and 1 tsp. baking powder.
Blend in 3/4 cup of butter until mixture is crumbly.
PRESS two thirds mixture into a 9" pan. Top with 1 cup of cranberry sauce.
Sprinkle remaining oat mixture over the cranberries.
BAKE at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool completely. Cut into squares.

Now I would like to share another little something with you. My friend Gwen over at A Charming Home http://acharminghomeblogspot.com/ has blessed me with this darling award. Gwen loves jewelery and making jewelery is one of her passions. She has at this moment a beautiful pink beaded bracelet she has made in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and she is having a Giveaway. You can find the bracelet to your right on my sidebar. But better still, go see her and enter her Giveaway.
Now, I want to bless you with this award too. I am supposed to pass this on to ten of the bloggers I visit the most frequently. But you know me! I do have my favourites, but some of you have award-free blogs and besides I really don't want to play favourites! So, like I usually do, I am passing this on to all my Followers. I so appreciate every one of you and want to make this as painless as possible! I hope it makes your day.

Sharing from my heart~ Sandi

  7. Thank you for the darling award, Sandi.
The cranberry dessert looks delicious. I make my own cranberry sauce too. I used to buy the canned kind but once I made my own I never bought the canned again. It is so easy to make and so much better.
    Hugs,
