Celebrations Galore!

Sweet May hath come to love us,
Flowers, trees, their blossoms don;
And through the blue heavens above us
The very clouds move on. - Heinrich Heine

Hello dear friends! This weekend, like many of you, Hubby and I will be celebrating Mother's Day. But we will also celebrate our anniversary and his birthday.

Saturday afternoon we will join my mother for a Mother's Day Tea at the nursing home.

There will be treats such as assorted tea sandwiches and sweets as well as live music.

An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joy of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow. ~ Unknown

And because our anniversary lands on the same weekend as Hubby's birthday and Mother's Day, we are planning to go out for a lobster supper. It makes more sense to combine all three special occasions. This supper will include an entree as well as a sixty foot salad bar with all the home made biscuits, rolls, seafood chowder, mussels, and desserts you can eat. It is going to be a feast! My waistline will surely take a hit on Sunday.

For his birthday, I will be baking Hubby something different this year. He's not a big cake lover so I usually bake him his favourite apple pie.

But this year it will be a surprise. I will share that on Monday at No Place Like Home.

Today is our anniversary and we will be enjoying a little tea time using this pretty Royal Kendal Lily-of-the Valley teacup that Gina of A Victorian Wanna Be blog sent me.

This teacup was made in Staffordshire, England and I love it! When Gina found out that my hubby's birthday was in May and I was searching for a May teacup, she sent me one of hers. I appreciate this so much because May is also our anniversary month. Blog friends are some of the most special folks I know. Thank you, Gina!

So here is my little table set with the Lily of the Valley teacup as well as a green Colclough.

I do love the colour green, in fact it is one of my favourites. It is so fresh and always reminds me of springtime which is my favourite season.

I believe I could be a model child if I were just invited out to tea every day. ~ Anne of Green Gables - LM Montgomery

My anniversary roses. I love white roses. In fact I carried white roses when we got married. But I love pale pink as well.

With our tea we will share this little cake.

I just love this guy so much and I am blessed to have him as my mate and best friend. God knew what He was doing when He brought us together. You see his smile? He always looks like that. He's a very pleasant guy and he could probably run for mayor. In fact I often call him that because he talks to everybody we meet when we're out and about.

Thank you for your visit and I wish all you beautiful moms out there a Happy Mother's Day! The Lord bless you.

No Place Like Home

Having a place to go - is a home.
Having someone love you - is a family.
Having both is a blessing. ~ Donna Hedges

Welcome to No Place Like Home and welcome the lovely month of May! This is one of our busiest months of the year with three birthdays, two anniversaries, and Mother's Day. Lots of celebrations going on.

The other day I posted a recipe for Overnight Chicken. It is delicious and wonderful for a large gathering.

I also shared my new teapot with you.

If you missed this post just click here.

Last week's party served up a wonderful variety of ideas, crafts and recipes. They were all marvellous and thank you so much for sharing. You are a wonderfully talented group of ladies and I am honoured to have you join me!

These are my features from last week's party:

Penny @ Penny's Vintage Home shared the lovely touches she added to her green house.

Christine @ Christine's Home and Travel Adventures shared her wonderful tablescape in celebration of her daughter's birthday.

Emily @ The French Hutch shared a gorgeous tea in the rose garden.

Rebeca @ Lincluden Cottage Life shared her beautiful kitchen with some Spring updates.

Thank you ladies for participating last week. As a courtesy, and if you would like to be featured, you should have a link back to my party.

Now let's see what you are creating in your home to make it a cozy place to come home to for your family, your friends, and yourself.
