March is finally here and it came in like a lamb here on Prince Edward Island. Well, this fellow isn't exactly a lamb but close enough!
March holds many wonderful opportunities for celebration. We have daylight savings time coming when our days will be longer. Of course there's St. Patrick's Day and the first day of Spring. Then two of the most important holidays in the calendar year, Good Friday and Easter.
I have brought out some pretty Royal Albert china called Petit Point today.
When I think of springtime, which will be in a little over two weeks time, I think of lush greens and blue skies, pops of colour in the garden, song birds, bunnies, lambs and chicks.
Hubby gifted me with this set of china for Valentine's Day one year and even though it has a needlepoint motif on it, I think it also lends itself to springtime with its delicate blue pattern and posies.
For our treat today I am serving ice cream smothered in a lovely butterscotch sauce. I used to make this sauce when my children were growing up and it was always a hit.
I am not a big ice cream person but some folks, like my hubby, think ice cream is food for the gods. I'm sure Anne of Green Gables felt the same way about ice cream.
A couple of scoops of pralines and cream ice cream, in a pretty pink parfait dish, with sliced bananas, smothered in warm butterscotch sauce, whipped cream and a cherry on top make for a delectable treat. It is as good as it looks too.
Let's enjoy our tea, shall we? The teapot, made in Portugal, has a couple of chips in the rim, but it matters not.

My niece gave me this teapot when I brought back a Japanese cast iron tetsubin for her from my cousin last summer. My niece prefers a tetsubin over a china teapot.
My niece was very happy to get this. It is cute but it weighs a ton!

On a sadder note, we here in Blogland received some sad news this past week. My blogger friend Sally at Smiling Sally passed from this life to her home in heaven. Sally loved the colour blue and hosted her party every Monday called Blue Monday. She and I became friends early on when I began blogging and we both participated in Spiritual Sundays. She did book reviews and I was the recipient of a couple of books from her in her giveaways. In memory of dear Sally I am dedicating this post. God bless and comfort her family at this sad time.
