Welcome friends to Tea Time! I do hope you all had a wonderful week filled with happy occasions.
Hubby is still on vacation and we have been enjoying the break from routine....
We took a short trip to New Brunswick for a few days where we visited family. Of course we have been enjoying our beautiful beaches too now that the nice weather has come back.
"Only in quiet waters do things mirror themselves undistorted. Only in a quiet mind is adequate perception of the world." ~ Hans Margolius
I felt like a quiet tea time today so I am using my creamy white Skye McGhie teacup called Chantilly Lace. I added a few sprigs of Queen Anne's Lace which snuggle up to my teacup. This lovely lacy flower/weed is growing profusely all over the Island right now. Bernideen, you would love it!
This is along one of the main streets going into Charlottetown. Too bad the tide is low. It would have been prettier had the tide been high.
The Queen Anne's Lace below is growing behind the canteen at the beach. I love the weathered shingles with the Lace and red rock which the Island is known for.
Back to our tea ~ I arranged some creamy white roses in a silver coffee pot which has a bit of a patina on it.
Sometimes I like lemon in my tea and I always take it black.
"The secret to a well balanced life is a cup of tea in one hand and a good book in the other." ~ Unknown
A good book or magazine makes a relaxing tea time even more enjoyable.
I really do admire those ladies who host a blog party every week and never take a break from it but I feel I must and I hope you understand. There will be no Tea Time next week but it will resume on the 17th of August. I hope to see you then.
Now I'm wondering what you have to share. Teacups/coffee cups, teapots/coffee pots/chocolate pots, creamers, sugar bowls, and tea spoons, all are welcome. I enjoy seeing your trips to a Tea Shop and we tea ladies love a new tea time recipe, so please feel free to share any of these as well as your tablescapes.
Thank you for visiting and have a beautiful day!

Your tea today is so romantic and soothing, Sandi. I love your pretty teacup and I think the patina on the teapot lends for a vintage charm. Of course, your quotes always set a gentle mood for me when I come to visit your tea party.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with your family, on the beach, and wherever else you may go. Thank you for hosting and we will see you in two weeks. Love and hugs, Kitty
I love that quote by John Calvin at the end of your post.

Oh so serene and beautiful! I love how you used your silver coffee pot. In my linked post, I used a silver teapot to hold roses, too! That teacup is so delicate and I love how you accented it with the Qeen Anne's Lace. The book you chose is one of my all-time favorites!
ReplyDeleteI love Queen Anne's Lace...your pictures are lovely and inviting....eps. the last one with tea, white roses, and perfect hat!!!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful quiet time tea! Praying you have a very restful blog break and a wonderful time with family!

ReplyDeleteI like your tea table this week Sandi with pearls, lace, tea and a good book. Enjoy the visit with the son returning home now, I can't imagine only seeing a child once a year.
ReplyDeleteMy host blogging break was exhilarating, I rarely picked up my iPad as there were so many things to do with our family while on vacation.
Hi Sandi: Love the beautiful white tea cups and pearls. A great post. Have a wonderful time off. Enjoy your vacation. Hugs, Martha

ReplyDeleteA quiet tea is such a lovely theme. We all need to take time to reflect and meditate. Your photos are lovely. Enjoy your family time with your son. ~ Phyllis
ReplyDeleteSo little Queen Anne's Lace in New Jersey any more - has gone the way of the pastures and trees and the meadows - all paved over I'm afraid. So lovely to see your pictures. They refresh my soul.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting. It is always a pleasure to join the party.
PS - I think I'm going to see if I can get some Q.A.L. seeds or plants. There is nothing stopping me from growing some of my own I don't guess.
Dear Sandi,
ReplyDeleteso nice to have this white and quiet tea time. It looks refreshing at this summertime. On your and Bernideen's blog I learned to love the Queen Annes Lace, because here it is only considered as weed. But it looks so much like baby breath and is so lovely in the vase. The secret garden is a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing this white tea time and for hosting this event. I will hopefully link in later with a new post.
Best greetings, Johanna
I don't know why I never embraced the drinking of tea. My mother and grandmothers all loved their tea and had their favorite teacups. I guess it's because I never sit till long enough to sit for a cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely visit with your son.
I love the saucer of your white tea cup Sandi. It looks very pretty and delicate, it's beautiful. Surely, you would feel a delight drinking from that cup. I've watched the secret garden many years ago and I enjoyed it very much. Maybe one of these days, I would read the book as well. I find that an author's description of a certain event, feeling or place builds the imagination... watching it on tv doesn't nurtured that same use of the mind. :-)
ReplyDeleteSandi--your simple tea turned out lovely with the whites and silver. I love the touch of "lace" around the teacup. I think Queen Anne's Lace or something that looks a lot like it, grows along the paths in the woods near my house. I love the picture of the flower near the seashore--so pretty! Have a great time with your son!
ReplyDeletethe lemon slice looks so pretty floating in your cup. I may even take a slice in my tea later this afternoon. I am not in the practice of adding anything at all to my tea. I suppose that is one of the reasons I am so particular about the flavor.
ReplyDeleteI loved your post. I'd love to have a tea party some day. I enjoyed visiting.
ReplyDeleteSandi, I love the Queen Anne's Lace. And yes, it does make me think of Bernideen! I actually love a little tarnish on silver. In some cases, a lot. lol! So glad that your son is coming for a visit. All of our kids live quite close and I can't even imagine what it would be like to only see them once a year. Embrace the time and enjoy that break! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
