Spiritual Sundays ~ Happy Mother's Day!

Hello everyone and welcome to my Spiritual Sundays post! Since this is Mother's Day weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to share a message about mothers.

This one is taken from "Our Daily Bread" and is penned by Bill Crowder.

"The Chester Beatty Library in Dublin, Ireland, houses a wonderful collection of ancient Bible fragments. One very small fragment is a portion of John 19. This piece of John's gospel describes the moment, as Jesus was being crucified, when He spoke to His mother in a display of love and concern for her. The words are from verse 26, where we read, "When Jesus saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, 'Woman, behold your son!' "

As I stared at that ancient fragment, it struck me afresh how tangible Jesus' love was for His mother and friend. How, with clear words, He let the world know of His love and affection by showing His concern that Mary be cared for by His friend John when He was gone. Hanging on the cross, Jesus said to John, " 'Behold your mother!' And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home " {v. 27}.

I think that today, on this Mother's Day, would be a wonderful time to declare publicly your love for your mom if you still have her - or to give thanks to the Lord for her if she is no longer with you. Then show in some tangible ways how much you love her and how much she has meant to you."

GOD BLESS MY MOTHER; ALL I AM OR HOPE TO BE I OWE TO HER. - Abraham Lincoln

Note: For those of you who didn't know, my cousin Cynthia's husband Jim passed away on Thursday of brain cancer. He had been ill about a year. Please pray for Cynthia as she grieves and carries on without him. They had no family.

Pink Saturday

Hi everyone and welcome to my Pink Saturday post!
My, it's been a busy weekend! First of all, I want to thank all of you who have been praying for my cousin Cynthia whose husband Jim passed away on Thursday. Jim had been suffering with brain cancer for about a year and he lost his battle with it early Thursday morning. Cynthia and Jim did not have a family so she does not have the love and support of children to help her through this. Please continue to pray for her that she receives healing and comfort along the way.

Hubby and I also celebrated our Anniversary on Thursday, today is Hubby's birthday, and tomorrow is Mother's Day! Whew! May is always like this, busy, busy, busy! On the 11th, my son and his wife celebrate their 8th Anniversary and on the 19th it's another birthday; Jared, my little grandson will be turning 5 years old.

So, after having told you all that, I am sharing one of my little tea-for-one sets which I treated myself to the other day. It looks very French with the script on it. I love the yellow with the pink roses!

The pink carnations you see in the photo are part of my Anniversary bouquet. Aren't they a gorgeous colour of pink?Love the little rosebud handle on the cover of the tea pot!

I am also sharing my Anniversary bouquet with lots of pink in it.
Happy Pink Saturday everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all you beautiful Moms out there in Blogland! Be sure to go visit our hostess Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
