English Teacups for Tea Time

Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Hello dear tea friends and welcome to my first Tea Time in July! Summer has finally arrived here on the Island. Canada Day was last Wednesday and with it came the heat. Hubby and I are looking forward to spending lots of time at the beach, just relaxing and breathing in the clean fresh air.

For tea time, I am going with a pink theme today because I have cut some fresh roses from my bushes and they are sitting pretty in a teapot.

We will use my lovely Royal Albert Lady Carlyle and Serena teacups for our tea. Both teacups are a classic example of the romantic floral tradition that Royal Albert is famous for.

Do you collect English teacups? I seem to gravitate toward English cups when I'm out and about in thrift shops although I do have many other makers too.

Tea Tip ~ Hanging your teacup from a hook can weaken the porcelain.

I read this somewhere once and as much as I love the charming look of cups hanging from hooks in a cabinet,  I don't hang mine because I don't want to weaken the handles.

What do you think? Do you hang your teacups from hooks?

I have set our tea out in front of the window. The snow is long gone and the maple tree has leafed out beautifully. It has been quite breezy the past few days as you can see by the lace panel blowing softly.

I made some Rocky Roads for our treat. I have made them many times over the years. How about you?

May I pour you some tea? We are having Davids Salted Caramel tea. It goes well with my rocky roads.

The spirit of the tea beverage is one of peace, comfort and refinement. ~ Arthur Gray

Enjoy your tea time today and thank you for gracing me with your company. You have made my day!
