Tulips and Royal Albert for Tea Time

Life should be savoured; sipped like a cup of tea. ~ Unknown

Happy March and welcome to another Tea Time dear friends! I feel like throwing a party because February is finally over!

This past February broke the record as being the coldest since 1872 here on PEI. We also received around 223 cm. of snow and the norm for the Island in the month of February is 58 cm.
Now you can understand why I am looking forward to springtime. Three more weeks, and even though there are big fluffy flakes falling on top of the mountains of snow we already have, it's just a matter of time and it will all be gone. That's something to celebrate!

Tulips can captivate the world and sweep away the winter blues. Opening morning chalices, they sparkle like the diamond dew. ~ Gayle Sweeney

Celebrate with pink tulips!

I am using my Royal Albert Petit Point china. The cup is very dainty and is made in the Hampton shape. Celebrate with pretty china!

The pattern is unique and reminds me of springtime with its florals and cross stitch motif. Both the large plate and the small sandwich plates are square shaped and the gold trim just adds to the charm of this pretty pattern.

I do not cross stitch but I know some of you do.

I have two teacups; one for you and one for me. Today we will enjoy some cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches. I usually have a sweet but today I felt like a sandwich.

I have my wee china blue birds joining us today.

The littlest bird fits perfectly on the tiny spoon.

English Breakfast tea is what I'm drinking today.

Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.

Tulips bring a touch of Spring to the table.

I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers. ~ Claude Monet

Doesn't this tulip make you wish you could curl up inside of it?

March will be a busy month with St Patrick's Day and the first day of Spring to celebrate in the same week. You know there is a green themed tea party coming up, right? The week of March 16th I will be hosting a combo St Patrick's Day and First Day of Spring Tea Party. You may or may not share a green themed post. It's totally up to you. Whatever strikes your fancy is fine with me.

Did you know that the first tea tag was used by Sir Thomas Lipton in 1917 as an advertising gimmick, and these little items have been produced in a fascinating variety ever since. ~ Excerpt from "If Teacups Could Talk" by Emilie Barnes

Thank you for coming to tea today. I do enjoy your company and if you have something tea or coffee related, please do share with us. Have a lovely day everyone and God bless you!
