Welcome to my HOME everyone!
I hope you're all enjoying this first week of February. I couldn't help but post a TK painting here today. I so admire his work and his cottages are so cozy!
Yesterday I was without my computer most of the day and I wondered if I would have time to get a recipe on today. I still can't get into my gmail account. My computer is such a mess right now. *sigh* Do computers ever make you feel like you could throw a tantrum??
UPDATE: Since I posted this, a very good friend who has worked on computers for many years dropped by and fixed everything up for me. He removed the virus and everything is back to normal. Thank goodness for folks who know what they're doing!
I am sharing a different version of an Apple Crisp and it feeds a lot. I have made this countless times for our Bible Study group and they loved it so I hope you will try it.
Cinnamon Apple Crisp
6 Granny Smith apples, sliced
1 cup of water
1 box of white cake mix
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of ground cloves
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
Arrange sliced apples in an ungreased 9x13 pan. Pour water over the apples. In a separate bowl, combine cake mix, brown sugar, spices, and melted butter. Stir until blended and the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle crumb mixture over the apples.
Bake @350 degrees for about 50 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Yield: 16 servings
I am always delighted to have you visit. For those of you who are looking for my linky party, I had to cancel it due to computer issues. So in place of the party each week, I will try to share something HOME related that I think you would enjoy.
Next week Valentine's Day will be here and I am hosting a Hearts & Flowers Tea on Monday, February 10th and all week long. I invite you all to join me. You may copy and paste my button above for the party if you wish.

Hello Sandi, I am sorry you are having computer issues. So frustrating! Hope you can get things straightened out soon. TK was a wonderfully talented artist. They called him the painter of light because his paintings always have that glow or point(s) of light. You cinnamon apple crisp sounds delightful and I want to give it a try! I made an apple pie last week. We enjoyed it.

That looks delicious. Wish we were having it tonight! Do you have office max? Or something like it. You take them your "tower" and they clean it out.
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious. Although it would be better for us in winter.

Hi Sandi, I have a friend that makes an apple crisp like this. I thought it was yummy for a change. Love the old fashioned recipe as well, but sometimes it's fun to mix it up! thanks for sharing with SyC.
