Good friends are a treasure.~ Irish Blessing
Welcome friends to Tea Time! A good friend arrived bearing flowers the other day. These are the last of her peonies and she thought I would enjoy them. Indeed I do!
"If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give." ~ George MacDonald
It's a beautiful day so let's sit out on the deck. I have set the table with my posies and the pretty coffee set I found at our Anne of Green Gables Store a couple of years ago. Some of my rose bushes are behind the deck but you can't see them.
"Earth laughs in flowers." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
It's early morning, so I am drinking coffee. I love sitting out here early in the morning and listening to the birdies sing!
"My favourite weather is bird-chirping weather." ~ Terri Guillemets
The teacups were a birthday gift a few months ago also from my friend and they are called, Rose of England. The roses on the teacups are so large they resemble peonies and I thought they would go nicely with my flowers.
"Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul." ~ Luther Burbank
It's a warm day so I am serving fresh berries with a dollop of vanilla yogurt on top. The parfait glass is vintage pink depression glass and was a gift of two from my hubby.
And speaking of gifts, I received this gorgeous silver tea spoon and a lovely card in the mail last week from a dear bloggy friend. She had found it while treasure-hunting and she said when she saw this spoon with the initial "S" on it, she thought of me. Wasn't that sweet of her?
I enjoyed a cup of tea later in this RA Serena teacup. I really love the roses on this spoon as well as my initial! I will use this often and think of the lovely lady who gifted me with it!
Thank you for coming to tea today. It's getting very warm and it's time to don my hat!
Hubby and I will be heading out to the beach once he gets home from work.
Next week I am hosting my Christmas in July Tea Party and I hope you will join me for that.
You may share whatever you wish but I would love it if you could share something Christmasy. Perhaps you have a red teacup or you found a festive piece since the last holiday. Maybe you could share some yummy shortbread with your tea. The ideas are endless!
Please feel free to take my button for next week's tea party.
I am hoping to host another Anne of Green Gables Tea in August. I will tell you more about that later. Enjoy your day dear friends and remember to save a cup for me!

ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to mention...that darling spoon is exquisite and perfect for you. What a thoughtful gift!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect gift to receive - an antique monogrammed spoon. I sent you a gift too as it seemed the RIGHT THING to do!..it has a long way to come by mail from Colorado to PEI!
ReplyDeleteThe Lord must be speaking to some of us to bless you right now!
Lovely coffee set and time on the deck for Tea Time Tuesday!
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteYou have created such an inviting tea on your deck. It is too hot and humid here for tea outside. Hopefully, soon though. Your chintz set is stunning.
Oh my, this is such a lovely setting, and your tea service looks gorgeous. Thanks so much for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely on your deck Sandi. A nice spot for breakfast and tea in the morning. The teacups are very pretty. What a thoughtful friend to send you the silver spoon! I hope you enjoy the beach. It's really hot here today again, in the 90's so the beach would be nice. Enjoy! Pam
ReplyDeleteHello Sandi
ReplyDeleteYour tea china is so beautiful! What a wonderful Blogging friend to send you the lovely silver spoon.
Have a great week and thank you for hosting Tea Time today.

You tea outdoors is absolutely gorgeous, Sandi.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I were sitting there with you - so beautiful.

Beautiful tea, dear Sandi. It looks like the perfect day to enjoy some refreshment outside. And the peonies are just lovely! I put up some peony pictures on my blog yesterday :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs to you!
It was lovely to join with you for tea today. I especially loved your flowers.

Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely spot to sit and take in all the bird songs I know you love to hear! Your coffee set is so beautiful and your teacups could pass for peony blossoms very easily! Your photo of your pretty teacup and new teaspoon is gorgeous! Thank you for hosting your tea party this week and have a wonderful time at the beach!
Hugs,
Nancy
Oh, my - how delightful that you can enjoy tea on your deck in the morning, Sandy! Not in South Jersey of late, I'm afraid. Either it's raining or the humidity is already too unbearable. I am tempted, though, to take my cuppa on the front porch where I can enjoy the flower garden. I am looking forward to Christmas in July Teatime - challenging since most of my stuff is put away. But, the Anne Tea in August sound wonderful! Loved the chocolate pot from Green Gables (That is a chocolate pot, right?) It does nicely for teatime, too - but the shape makes me think chocolate pot.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your lovely weather!
Joy!
Kathy
Hi Sandi: I will join you next week for the party. Have a wonderful week. Love the tea cups today. Roses are always a favorite. Wanted to let you know I have been praying for you. Hugs, Martha

Dear Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI am totally blown away by your china today. Both sets are really marvellous. The tea spoon is a loving gift of your friend. Its a perfect addition to the rose tea cup. Thank you for sharing this beautiful table and for hosting this sweet event.
Best greetings, Johanna
Gosh Sandi, I'm in England and around beautiful English roses right now so am completely in love with your rosy cups. I probably won't be able to join in a Christmas themed party next week but will completely enjoy yours! Hugs for now. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi! Jeannie went thrifting and I was so happy to see teacups as I knew we could attend your party! Your table is so lovely. The coffee service is beautiful! Love anything with roses. You won't believe the teacups Jeannie found and DIDN'T BUY! I can't bear to think about it...
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting us today!

The spoon with your initial on it is lovely, a gift to cherish for sure.
Extremely hot here today but at least it's not raining.
I'll be away next week so will miss the Christmas in July tea party but will hopefully be back on track the week after.
