A Prayer Request

Good morning dear friends~

I have a prayer request for my son, Jeff.

Tomorrow, Thursday, Jeff is having ear surgery.
He suffered hearing loss after a very bad ear infection about fifteen years ago and he has had numerous ear infections in that ear ever since. He also had tubes put in that ear but nothing has helped. Now, there is a growth in there and if left, will grow into his brain so it has to be removed. This surgery is hopefully going to repair the damage to his hearing as well. However, it is a risky operation...

Perhaps the surgery will not work and he will still be almost deaf in that ear. There is the risk of paralysis to his face as well as damage to his taste buds. The surgeon has been completely honest with him about all of this.
Hearing is a very important gift and Jeff is very musical which means he really needs his hearing to play his instruments. He plays drums and the bass guitar on the worship team at church.

So, I'm asking you to please pray that God will use the hands of the surgeon to repair the hearing damage as well as remove the growth with no damage to his face or taste buds. I believe that God can do that and I am praying this would be His will for my son.

Thank you so much for praying on his behalf.
Those of you who are looking for this week's tea party post will find it below this.

  3. Hello Sandi,
I will be keeping him in prayer as well as the hospital staff and surgeon. I know how important music is in my own life and couldn't imagine living without hearing...BUT God is control and He will be glorified regardless.
You know Beethoven went completely deaf and yet he was able to overcome the loss and continued to write the most wonderful pieces of music.
Ode to Joy (Joyful joyful we adore Thee..?)....Beethoven!
    Blessings and Prayers,
    Doni

  13. I had a lot of ear infections as a child, so I can understand the discomfort he felt. However, this takes it to a whole new level I'm very grateful I never got to. I just prayed for him, that God would direct his physicians' hands wisely.

    Blessings,
    Sue

  15. Praying for Jeff, the family, and the surgeon. Isn't it wonderful to know that prayers from many places are ascending to Heaven on behalf of Jeff, and God hears them all. God will be the unseen Physician in the operating room tomorrow and may He guide the surgeon's hands so that the outcome is complete healing and restoration.

  16. Your son is in my prayers, and he is also in the hollow of God's Hand, no better place to be. May God bring healing to his ear with no side effects or other unexpected problems. May the Lord direct the surgeon's hands and guide him with His Own Eye. May YOU have peace in your heart today, knowing that God is in control. I pray these things for you in Jesus' Name. Amen.

  22. Praying for him. I know full well the results of hearing loss due to an infection. When I was a junior in high school I had water behind my ear drum and lost part of my hearing then and it has gradually gotten worse.

Therefore, it is my prayer not only that everything be safe and well, but that he knows the joy of restored hearing.
