Hello friends and welcome to another Pink Saturday with our hostess Beverly.
I was planning to share a different post today but the rain prevented me from doing that so I will do that post another week. In its place, I decided to share some photos of my beloved Rose Chintz china.
Rose Chintz was first introduced in 1883 by Johnson Bros. of England.
I do love this china as it brings back such happy memories for me and it is adorned with many shades of our favourite colour, pink! One of my wee pink pumpkins snuggles up to the cups.
Most of these pieces were given to me by my sweet Auntie P. Her set was started for her when she was a young bride and she always used them when I was growing up. As a little girl, I loved her table set for dinner as it always looked so pretty to me. Even as a little girl, I loved china and the colour pink.
When I got married, I tried to find this same china but alas, this pattern was no longer in production. It was nowhere to be found around the Maritimes where I live. I was so disappointed!
Then, a few years ago, when Auntie down-sized into her condo, she passed many pieces of her Rose Chintz on to me. I'm so happy she did! Aren't they pretty?
I have since been able to get many pieces off eBay and a couple of blogger friends gifted me with a couple of pieces too.
It is such a sweet and feminine pattern which evokes a sense of romance, don't you agree?
Thank you Auntie, Carolyn, and Patti.
Thanks for visiting and I wish you all a lovely pink weekend filled with joy.
Sharing from my heart~ Sandi

Sandi: You display the Rose Chintz china so beautifully. It makes me proud that we share the same love for it. Yes, the pattern is dated 1883. In 1954 when we married there was plenty of pieces available yet and we completed the set to a 12 piece setting. Thanks for the bouquet you gave me today....Love Auntie P
ReplyDeleteSandi,
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you have such a generous and loveing Auntie. My dear MIL gave me most of her silver. I treasure it also.

Oh Sandi,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet visit. I have not posted on Pink Saturday in so long, that I have no idea where the summer has gone. I have been way too busy to keep up.
I have missed everyone and it was so good to hear from you.

Sandi, I love this set of dishes! I have eight of the vintage/new dinner plates in this pattern and I like to use them often. Wish I had a whole set like you do...the tea pot and creamer/sugar bowl are lovely!! How special your aunt gifted her set to you, that makes it the most special thing about them, doesn't it?

Dear Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI saw this china foirst in your blog button. So wherever I see this pattern today, I am thinking of you. "Oh, Sandi's Chintz pattern!" It is truly a very nice china.
Best greetings, Johanna
Hi Sandi...these are beautiful and very feminine. Somebody recently gave me a set of China but I haven't known what to do with them. Sending you tons of hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi! I think I've mentioned before that my mother had a set of Rose Chintz which I inherited, but it is the newer issue. It even says "Microwave and Dishwasher Safe" on the bottoms. I went and got a cup from my china cabinet, and the newer cups are the same on the outside, but don't have the sweet flowers on the inside; mine are plain on the inside. Not sure when my mom acquired these dishes. She apparently replaced her old china with them. I rack my brain trying to remember her old china pattern, but I can't picture it. I always enjoy seeing your Rose Chintz and all your lovely additional pieces. Glad you have such a nice treasure. Bess
ReplyDeleteCharming, yet elegant...LOVE it. This pattern reminds me of my first trips to a special Brit-owned tea house years ago. They offered scrumptious scones, real Devon cream, perfectly steeped tea and beautiful cups. TFS your dishes.
ReplyDeleteDearest Sandi,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words of encouragement and prayers.
I am so very late getting by to visit, as last week was difficult. Last weeks tea was wonderful by the way.
We always love having you join us dear lady!
I love the dishes you selected all those years ago; the ones that you have featured in today's post are timeless, lovely and some of my all time favorites.
Hugs, Wanda Lee
Beautiful china, Sandi. You always have the bestest pinks!!!
