Happy Pink Saturday to all my blogging friends!
I had taken a bit of a break while my son was home for Christmas but I'm back now to share some pinks with you. So, here we are in another New Year and the holidays behind us once again. I do miss Christmas and all the music and sparkle. The rich food I can do without, how about you? I like getting back to my normal routine but I do love the holiday season especially when I'm surrounded by my family!
A week ago, I celebrated a big birthday on New Years Day and two of my darling sons gifted me with something pink. My youngest surprised me with this lovely snack set adorned with a pink rose and little birdie.
Hubby had gotten me out of the kitchen while my son busied himself getting this set up on the table with tea and a little nibble. As you can see, it is inscribed with a lovely sentiment, "A Mother's Love is the Greatest gift." It is also in some of my favourite colours; pink and aqua.
My second son who lives way out on the west coast couldn't be here so he surprised me with a bouquet which he chose himself and had it delivered to my door. I was so pleased! It is lovely with touches of pink tucked in here and there as well as a lovely pink lily. Since posting this, two more pink lilies have opened up.
My second son also blessed me with my first granddaughter in December. Here they are, asleep on the sofa with Jenna-Lynn's tiny head wreathed in soft pink.
My oldest son and his family gifted me with a beautiful red silk scarf. I should have taken a photo of it although it's not pink but my DIL had wrapped it all up in soft pink tissue paper and tied the ends with white curly ribbon. It was so pretty!
Hubby gave me a new teapot and took me and my family out to dinner at a nice restaurant. That was a wonderful surprise too!
Before I go, I will share with you a birdcage which I had decorated for Christmas. I hadn't shared it at all with you and thought I would show it to you before I change it up for the winter. As you can see, it is all in pink florals, ribbon, and fairy lights. I might even leave it this way for the Winter, we'll see!
Thanks for stopping by. Many thanks to Beverly for hosting Pink Saturday so faithfully every week. Hi Sandi...Happy belated birthday. Your sons are reflect your being a great mom. Their gifts are so pretty and that best one is that little babe...She's sooo cute.
ReplyDeleteI love your snack tray!! You received such lovely gifts!! And your bouquet is just gorgeous!! I love what you did with the birdcage. I saw one a Dillards today marked down 75% but it was so heavy I didn't get to pick it up and look at the price. If it's still there on Monday I think I will give it a shot. I've seen so many pretty things done with birdcages and I want one now too!!! Thanks so much for sharing! Have a wonderful weekend and a Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday, Sandi. It looks and sounds like you had a wonderful birthday and Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAll of your gifts are great, and the greatest is that exquisite little girl. What special love you two will share.
Your birthday isn't over till you receive your last gift and/or birthday greeting :) :) :) Happy Birthday. Your famiy really put some wonderful thought into each of your gifts...I think the new baby granddaughter is the best one :) :) The birdcage is lovely..and I especially enjoyed the photo with the lights inside!!! Can you believe I have this birdcage I found at a yardsale awhile back and I still haven't painted it? I think I'll need to fix that :) :) Your birdcage will serve as inspiration. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
ReplyDeleteYour hub and sons sure do know you. Love how much thought went into each gift. Your precious grandbaby and her daddy melts my heart. I love those kinds of pics. Nothing melts a woman's heart more than a man holding a teeny baby.
ReplyDeleteI love your birdcage and I think you should leave it out all year!
