Hello bloggy friends and welcome to my 13th Tea Time Tuesday!
Unfortunately, this sweet little teacup has gotten broken in two places! First the handle broke off and now there is a piece of the bottom of the teacup broken off. I have had to glue both these pieces back on. Of course, the teacup can no longer be used to drink tea from, so what to do with it? Rather than throw it out or break it further into pieces to use in mosaic art, I have opted to use it as a votive candle holder.
It looks pretty sitting on the little robin egg blue chest in the living room. The little birdie thinks so too!
Thank you for stopping by for Tea Time Tuesday. The participants are in the order in which they started to participate.
I cannot believe how fast the weeks are flying by! Just last week I was celebrating my son's birthday on Tea Time and here I am posting another tea. We are having so much fun getting together for tea, aren't we? I invite you to join me if you haven't already.
All you need to do is leave me a comment letting me know you would like to participate and then post about a favourite teacup, tea pot, or a piece of china used in a tea. A scripture verse, poem, or short story would be appreciated as well. Either of the two Tea Time buttons at the top of my sidebar are available for you to take and use for your Tea Time Tuesday post.
The lovely little teacup I am about to share with you today had also been a shower gift once upon a time. It is made in England and the pattern is called Veronica. It is fine bone china and made by Royal Albert.
This teacup has long been a favourite of mine because of the shape of it and the colour; robin egg blue! It is trimmed with gold and has little roses on the inside of the teacup.
Would you care for a piece of caramel cake?

How do you use a broken teacup? I would love to hear some of your ideas!
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." ~ Matthew 5: 14-16

Sandi, Your post is feminine, elegant and lovely. The colors of your teacup are beautiful. I just love any Royal Albert china that I've seen! Great idea to not discard your cup, but to repurpose it. Your posts are full of elegance and beauty, Sandi! Thanks for including me in Tea Time Tuesday!

Hi Sandi!
ReplyDeleteI have my tea party post up and of course want to be included in all the fun here!
That teacup is just beautiful! You don't find many in that pretty blue with the gorgeous flowers. I just can't seem to bring myself to break my teacups for a mosaic. I LOVE the teacup mosaics and I really want to make a little garden table mosaic. but, I just can't do it! LOL
And thank you so much for your prayers! You will never know how much they meant to me. I am so grateful!
Thanks so much for adding my link.

Hello Sandi
ReplyDeletePour the tea, I could use a cup about now after a busy day. (and a piece of that yummy cake)
Too bad your pretty teacup is glued together, it would have been nice to have tea in it.
I have never had a teacup or saucer break yet (touch wood) but one of my old kitchen plates that got chipped, I stuck out in the garden for a piece of art.
Have a great week.
Judith

ReplyDeleteHi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI just got my post done and am joining in!
Oh you are gonna see a similarity in colors from my post today! That is such a pretty cup!
I do have some great ideas for ya. I have taken stranded tea cups and hung them around my chandy in my dining room. Also I put the tea cup on bottom flipped upside down and place the plate on top, glue them a whalaaaa you have pillar candle holder. You can also cover this chips with roses etc..and add a candle stick base again for another way to life up your cup.
Have a great day!
Lorena

Hi Sandi, I would love to participate your nice Tea Time Tuesday if I had any interesting tea cup. But I will visit you and I enjoyed this post very much. I like this tea cup not only for its nice design. I like also very much that you haven't discard this broken cup. Isn't it similar to the true life? Although we are all not without little damages, we want to be accepted and to have the chance to be useful for others.

Hello, Sandi,
ReplyDeleteThat is a sweet tea cup! The blue colors on it are fantastic. I am like you, I love robin's egg blue. Terrific idea to use it as a votive holder. I have used a few of my broken china pieces in my garden. I just stick the broken part into the dirt, and then leave the rest showing. Wow, I am even GROWING teacups;) Thank you for hosting our tea party each week. And yes, I would love a bite of that delicious cake! Love and blessings~ Vicki
