Topiaries for My Spring Mantel

Hello bloggie friends.
Last week I showed you some materials I was working with to create something for my mantel. Well, I'm finished and here they are...

Two topiaries for my Spring mantel....

I used two styrofoam balls, lots of faux hydrangeas in three different colours, two ceramic pots, butterflies, and sheer ribbon.  I cut the stem from the flowers to stand the topiaries up in their pots.

There was a lot of gluing! I used florist's foam inside the pots to anchor the topiaries and then I covered it over with Spanish moss.

I am not finished decorating my mantel yet but you get the idea. Just a hint of pink for Spring.

I am thinking very seriously of making a matching wreath to hang from the mirror. I will share it with you if I do.
Thank you for visiting today and enjoy your weekend.

  19. Hello Sandi,
I have missed our visits and am so honored that you came to leave a comment on my baby shoe.
I had to laugh when you said they wouldn't work for you because you have boys. Collection Gal in Texas wrote, she has boys with baby cowboy boots and is thinking of making something very similiar using the boots and some barbed wire. I think they would be adorable and too cute for words.
I can see the boy shoes with brown, tan, creams etc. Go for it if you love it. If you do, please leave a photo, I too would love to see them. Sweet as can be.
I love your mantel and your topiaries. Hydrangreas are one of my favorites and your work showcases them just perfect. The butterflies are a nice touch too.
Happy Spring to you and hopefully I will visit often. I have missed you,
    Char

  33. Hi Sandi!
Oh your topiarys are just beautiful. Been meaning to stop by, but have been dealing with a kidney infection and cold. They really have gotten me down and not feeling much like reaching out to others..me bad. I must admit blogging is a struggle as well for me right now and im in need of a change..not sure what i will be doing...praying and seeking the Lord for direction.

I do hope this finds you well...love your header with your Rose Chintz!!!!

    Be blessed my friend,
