Tea Time Tuesday

"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade." ~ Charles Dickens

Hello ladies and welcome to Tea Time Tuesday! I am delighted you have joined me! Are you ready for a new month of tea parties?

I think one of the things I most enjoy about Tea Time is that ladies from all over the globe gather once a week to partake together. Tea and friendship is what this tea party is all about.

The month of March ushers in a host of celebrations~ St. Patricks Day, the first day of Spring, and Easter is just around the corner too. Folks are thinking about their gardens and vacations. It's a wonderful time of year with Spring in the air!

St. Patricks Day is next week and if you are so inclined, why not share something green?
I know here on the Island, many will be celebrating St. Paddy's Day. My hubby's half Irish and I'm a wee bit Irish myself, so I will be sharing some green.

Meanwhile, please come on in and let's have a cuppa tea.
I was at the grocery store the other day and was captivated by the golden hue of these lovely yellow roses. They were half price so they came home with me. I knew just the teacups to share today. I thought the roses and teacups went well together.

The teacup on the bottom was once a shower gift.

It is called Queen Anne, made in England by Ridgway Potteries.

"Come and share a pot of tea. There's just enough for you and me. And if by chance we drink it up, we'll make ourselves another cup." ~ Unknown

This teacup I found at a yard sale last Fall for one dollar.

The lady told me it had belonged to her mother and it was badly stained. It looked like the stain could not be removed but I brought it home with me and applied a little elbow grease and the stain came off.

It's a Sadler and has a pretty bouquet of pink, deep red and yellow roses. The bouquet is on both sides of the cup as well as the saucer.

Some of the gold has been worn off so someone had enjoyed many cups of tea in her. She's happy in my home now.

If teacups could talk, I would love to hear the stories this one could tell!

I love how well it goes with my father's other two pieces!

Like this darling china boot....

.....and this little china basket. Would you care for some chocolate?

My Daddy had always loved the Old Country Roses pattern and he had bought these pieces for my mother once upon a time.

Now they keep company with my tea things.

I love treasures with sweet memories attached, don't you?

I decided to arrange some of my roses in my Verdici teapot too. Have you gotten your newest issue of Victoria? Oh, I do love these Spring issues! They are filled with loveliness from cover to cover.

A wee chick has hopped into the cup and he knows his appearance is symbolic of lovely things to come....

....Such as my Spring Tea on March 19th....

You're all invited to help me Celebrate~ The Splendor of the Season~ Spring Tea on March 19thBring out your springtime tea things and perhaps some bunnies, birdies, and eggs for a party. You are welcome to take the button for your post or sidebar.

"Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap. For whatever measure you deal out to others, it will be be dealt to you in return."  ~ Luke 6:38

Do you have a favourite teacup/teapot or mug you would like to share? I would love to see it! If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too: hot apple cider, hot chocolate, lemonade, iced tea or coffee, or a lovely punch in a pretty bowl. No alcoholic beverages please.
The TTT button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! As a courtesy, please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit with all my lovely participants.

  1. Hi Sandi. Happy March to you! A lovely post. The yellow roses are different, although yellow roses are not my favorite. They do go well with your lovely teacups and your family OCR pieces. Thanks for inviting me to your tea party!

  7. Hi Sandi
The yellow roses are pretty nice for half price, and what a way to brighten your tea table!
I like the little boot and basket that match the china, these make nice accessories to present treats in.
I've seen some bulbs starting to poke out of the garden so maybe I'l have something to show for your spring tea.

  12. Hi Sandi,
that looks all so lovely, the yellow roses and the nice tea cups. Amazing how close this Sadler tea cup to the OCR pattern is. Recently I saw a Parragon cup Moss Rose which is quite similar to RA Moss Rose decor. But yours matches perfect. And thats the good thing in procelain. One can clean it completely. I think the cup is happy to live with you now. Thank you for sharing tea and treats. I will see what I can do for St. Patricks day. Its always a delight to join your party.
    Best greetings, Johanna
