A Few More Pictures Around the Island

Hello friends, are you all ready for the weekend? Last weekend was beautiful, warm and sunny here on PEI. This weekend it will be cool, raining and cloudy.

I have a few more pictures of our travels around the Island that I would like to share with you.

On our way to the beach we passed this flock of woolly sheep grazing in a field of dandelions. I have a fondness for sheep, how about you?

My favourite place to go...the beach.

The Beach .... the only place where salt lowers your blood pressure. ~ unknown

A bright flower garden in one of the many little parks found around Charlottetown.

A statue of our first Prime Minister, Sir John A Macdonald, which sits right outside our Anne of Green Gables Store in downtown Charlottetown.

For those of you who missed this lighthouse when I shared it before, this is the West Point lighthouse built in 1875. It is the only lighthouse in Canada which houses an Inn in it.

Another glimpse of the little church in Avonlea Village. This is the church that Lucy Maud Montgomery and her cousins attended.  It is the Long River Presbyterian Church built in 1872.

One glorious day on the beach with our son when he was home in August.

Sailboats in the harbour where we go in the evenings to enjoy our coffee. You have seen this one before but it is a favourite.

It's sad to see the Summer coming to an end.

Have a lovely weekend friends and be sure to join me on Monday for Tea Time.

Sharing from my heart ~ Sandi

  1. Hi Sandi, What a glorious island you live on. I love sheep so that first photo grabbed my heart. I hope someday to visit your area. Thank you for sharing the beauty with us today. I'm wondering if you are seeing any colors changing yet?

  2. Oh Sandi, that was a lovely post. Loved seeing beautiful PEI. It is a place I have always longed to go. Soooo pretty.

Like you, I hate to see summer end, too. But, alas, my pink rose wreath on the front door came down yesterday and is replaced with a fall leaf wreath and accompanying pumpkin-covered rug. Can't stop fall from coming so might as well embace it. ha! Have a lovely weekend yourself. Susan

  6. Nice to see parts of the island we missed on our trip out east. It's only been in the low 50sF today so it sure feels like fall but next week we'll be back to the 80s for a few days.

  7. Nice photos, Sandi. It's been far too long since we visited PEI. Such a fun time we had and the people were so friendly and welcoming. Perhaps we will get there again soon. It's very fall-like today. Sweaters are needed. I don't mind, though. :) I'll be back tomorrow. Hugs, Deb
