Dashing through the snow,
In a one horse open sleigh,
O'er the fields we go,
Laughing all the way... ~ James Lord Pierpont
Hello ladies and welcome to Tea Time! It's the third week in November already.
It started to snow on the weekend and it's still snowing. The white powdery snow covers everything. The Baby Boo snuggled up to my roses is sprinkled with glitter but the pumpkins out on the side deck look like this. Does it snow where you live?
Brrr! It's too early for this stuff, pretty as it is!
My tea table today is set in blue and white with a beautiful bouquet of pale yellow roses for a little complimentary colour.
My transferware is a mix of patterns but they all go together like tea and cookies.
The teapot is Blue Willow made by Churchill.
The very sight of a teapot puts a smile on the face of most people. One cannot help but think of more serene and genteel times....They are a subtle reminder of all that is good in the world. ~ Barbara Roberts
I have several blue teacups in various patterns and the little square plates are yet another pattern.
From top left to right~ Blue Willow by Johnson Brothers, Spode Blue Room, Royal Homes of Britain by Enoch Wedgwood, and the last pattern is Old Britain Castles made by Johnson Bros. I have two sets of Old Britain Castles in blue.
These sweet little square plates are Adelaide Blue made by 222 Fifth fine china. I love this pattern and I have four of these plates.
I have adored transferware ever since I was a little girl. The main reason being is that the patterns evoke such whimsy and old-fashioned charm.
I made some mincemeat tarts because, like the cornbread a couple of weeks ago, I have been craving the spice. These tasty little pies are easy to make with Pillsbury pie crust cut out with a cookie cutter and pressed into a mini muffin tin. I simply filled them with mincemeat and the left over pastry comes in handy for the little stars on top.
Why not have a little dollop of fresh whipped cream sprinkled with a touch of cinnamon for an extra special treat?
Please allow me to pour you some Stash Chai Spice tea and help yourself to a spicy tart.
Let me know when you begin the new tea...My present elegancies have not yet made me indifferent to such matters. ~ Jane Austen
According to what we read about author Jane Austen, tea played an important role in her daily life.
Tea time is an important part of my life as well. It is a quiet time when I come away from my usual routine around the house and savour a lovely cup of tea.
With the hustle and bustle of the holidays nearing, do take time out of your routine and enjoy some solitude with a nice cup of tea. It will revive you and as you know there are many health benefits to drinking tea.
The sun has set and the fire glows brightly in the fireplace. It's warm and cozy. Soon the lights from the Christmas tree will lend a soft ambiance in the room.
Thank you for stopping by for tea once again and if you have anything tea or coffee related you are welcome to link up with me. I would love to see your teacups/coffee cups, teapots and coffee pots, chocolate pots, tablescapes, a recipe for tea time or a visit to a Tea Shop. Have a fabulous day everyone!

Hi Sandi. I just love all the blue and white! All the patterns always go sowel together! We have had no snow...just "severe clear" blue skies with not a clouds in sight, and VERY low temps for us! Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful week!

ReplyDeleteStill no real snow here though it can't be too far away..... We did see some flakes a few days ago. I do love blue and white. It is what I use as everyday. I started collecting blue and white when my New Brunswick cousin gave be a very old plate that came from a sale at Trinity Anglican Church in Saint John, NB. It was so lovely I had to add to it and soon discovered they didn't "need" to be the same pattern, they all look beautiful together.
Dear Sandi, all your blue and white teacups and saucers are just gorgeous! I am posting today my Tksgiving table in blue and white, but my tea set which go with this is in red transferware, like in my header.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great party and have a lovely week.
FABBY
You know I adore blue and white! It sets the prettiest table IMO! Lovely tea table and now you have me craving mincemeat tarts!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love all your blue transferware, Sandi! They all loo so pretty together and those square plates are a dream! I'd love a mincemeat tart with some whipped cream, please. Chai tea is one of my favorites during this time of the year. Can you believe it, I woke to a dusting of snow this morning, here in Texas!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting your lovely party.
I always love Johnson Brothers, but that Spode teacup is really lovely too. And now I know what to do with that jar of mincemeat in my cupboard! Those little tarts look delicious. Everything looks cozy at your house Sandi, and yes, we have snow on the ground here in Michigan too.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks so very pretty but I can wait for winter to arrive here. Your blue and white transferware is lovely. And your teacups in the collage are breathtaking. Thank you for hosting tea time today. Have a wonderful week! Karen
Sandy,
ReplyDeleteWe were supposed to get some snow here this morning but it never got cold enough for it...Just rain.....
Thanks so much for your visits and for your kind and encouraging words!!
I am back to blogging but posting now over on my Christmas Blog for the Holiday Season...
Hugs,
Deb
Hi Sandi, I ADORE your blue and white transferware! It is simply gorgeous! It is cold here too, and snowy. We had about 2" of snow over the wknd. Your mince tarts look great! My grandmother was an excellent cook, and she made her own mincemeat and canned it. She actually made it with beef! I think most cooks now use the jars of mince available at the grocers. I haven't had mincemeat in decades. I may have to buy a jar and make a pie! :)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings, Beth
I adore your blue and white transferware! Blue and white is my absolute fave...all your pieces work harmoniously! I love your square plates and those mincemeat pies are so darling! I live in Southern California, so we don't get snow. It is beginning to get cold here, though....perfect for tea!
ReplyDeleteAlso in blue your tea time is gorgeous. Very beautiful blue and white transferware and the pictures are so pretty.

Oh it is snowing here too. Yuck. I miss the 80 degree days. Time to settle in for the winter I suppose. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSherry
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteIt does look like an early start to winter but warm tomorrow....I can finish planting my tulips now.
your blue and white dishes are lovely and the tarts look good too.
Thank you for hosting,
Carolyn
I don't have anything to post this week, but I wanted to stop by and visit the party! I love the blue and white that you and Fabby are using....hugs....
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi: Love the blue and white you shared today. Transferware is so beautiful. As always you set the perfect table. Blessings, Martha
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty blue and white china. I love the square plates. I do not know if they are vintage or more newer. I shall have a dollop of whip cream with or without a lovely tea. I have not yet started to decorate for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI like your various patterns of blue and white Sandi, much more interesting than all the same.
ReplyDeleteI like mincemeat tarts too and should make some for my holiday baking. Pillsbury pie dough is my favourite to use as well although I will on occasion make my own pastry.
Thanks for hosting.
We've not had Thanksgiving yet and I am resisting the urge to jump right into Christmas decorating.
ReplyDeleteYour blue & white is striking, and as I am partial to blue & white, I love yours !
Thank-you for hosting this tea-time Sandi.
The only time I ever had mincemeat tarts was years ago when my daughter's British mother-in-law made them at Christmastime and gave me some. They were awesome.
ReplyDeleteYour blue and white transferware is gorgeous. Thanks for hosting, Sandi.
Hugs.
Such an amazing collection of beautiful blue and white china Sandi!
ReplyDeleteI love that teapot too and it is comforting to know that there are others that appreciate these things as much as I do.
I have a set of Spode Camille cups, saucers and plates which I cherish.
Thank you so much for hosting your lovely party!
Shane
Tea is one of the few consolations there are for having to live with snow.
ReplyDeleteNo snow here in Georgia, alas, although they're predicting a cold winter so maybe we'll see some in January or February. Today, I am loving seeing all your pretty blue wares! I spotted a Blue Willow cup and saucer in an antique mall over the weekend but decided $30 was more than I cared to pay. One day, I want to have a mix of Blue Willow pieces as you do! And I also wanted to say those are the *prettiest* mincemeat tarts I've ever seen. Charming!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sentiment elegantly spoken. Tuesday Tea with this lovely group of bloggers is one of my pleasures and a way to help me feel a connection to others with like interests.I always feel refreshed. Thank you for hosting. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeletePS- Making post this a pick of the week
You have the best teapots, Sandi! Your tea table looks very pretty and the tarts very tasty. I like blue & white, too. I have a little b&w, but not too much. We have only had 1/2" of snow so far, but we've been cold ... 6 this morning. Thankfully, it's supposed to warm up some. Have a lovely week! Bess
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi! Oh, your tea table is so pretty and the roses are gorgeous! I have that Blue Willow tea pot too! I love Blue Willow. Your snow is so lovely. We've had a little 'dusting' as they call it, yesterday.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweeite,
Shelia;)
Hi Sandi! Your transferware is so pretty and goes so well with the snowy outdoors. I do get know where a live (way further south from you), but not this early! I'm looking forward to seeing your Christmas stuff--I'm already getting in the mood. I'll start putting stuff up this weekend. The more I get done in November the more time to enjoy it in December!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi..
ReplyDeleteBlue willow always reminds me of my childhood.. Those sweet little ' Adeline" square plates blend so nicely and they are perfect for teatime dainties. Maybe I can squeeze and extra egg salad sandwich on mine ( ha ha) It's quite cold here too.. I laughed to see the snow on your pumpkins because that is the exact scene on my front porch...Br-r-r-r-Bundle up....Hugs
Oh Sandi, I love those blue and white square plates of yours, tell me they are dainty 6" or so plates... Absolutely eye pleasing. Just stopping by for a quick visit still on the road seeing wonderful Canada, check out "A Whale of a Time" you will love what I saw this week.

Dear Sandi,
ReplyDeletemy tea posts are getting later and later. I am so sorry for that. So I missed the laste tea post about Remembrance Day. I feel always sorry about the men who died in all the wars. So many tears and grieve.
Your tea setting looks lovely as always. Blue willow is a fantastic pattern and goes well with the white roses. Minced meat pies are cute and perfect for the season. Thank you for haveing me for tea and for hosting this sweet party.
Best greetings, Johanna
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteYour blue and white teatime today is one of the loveliest I've ever seen, complete with such pretty teatime treats! Snow, I know! Toronto got a little dusting, and it's cold, too!
Thank you for sharing all the sweetness. Happy weekend!
Poppy
Beautiful post. Ah, the snow, the dreaded winter wonderland in the Autumn! Hee Hee! We have had it too and it is down right C O L D! Brrr.....today I received some new flavors of Stash tea! I love blueberry tea and there are certain ones that are better. I always enjoy your tea shares and it has been a long while since I visited. Love the blue here. Take care and Blessings to you and yours, Anne
ReplyDeleteLove your collection of blue and white tea cups Sandi. I have the same tea pot by Johnson brothers.
ReplyDeleteWow look at that snow around you. Is it a little early for the snow this year?
I is strange to imagine that you are experiencing freezing days there, while us here in OZ are sweltering at 40 degrees Celcius.
But not for long coz I will be flying to New York next week.
I'm soo excited to see your beautiful country.
Hugs,
Aida
as usual everything here looks so elegant. As for winter....it's definitely here, cold and snowy and did I say COLD!!! Stay warm and cozy. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHello Sandi
ReplyDeleteYour blue transferware collection is so pretty!
We come to Arizona to get away from the cold winter in Saskatchewan but I must say I kind of miss the snow (a tiny bit) and I am struggling to get in the Christmas spirit. The stores are full of festive decorations so I am hoping to get inspired soon. ; )
Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing your Christmas decorating on my next visit.
Wanda
Hi Sandi, oh yes, blue and white is just a real favorite. Your examples are just some of the prettiest I have ever seen. I love the square plates. You have such lovely tea time things.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow last week and ice! VERY rare for us here in Oregon to have weather like that so very early.
We are back to rain now...chilly and dark and wet.
I hope to start some decorating next week as I have to set up my dad's the first week in December.
Sandi, I love your mixture of beautiful blues! Most of my home will remain decorated for Thanksgiving until Fri. even though we are not hosting it here this year. I have started decorating our basement and our bedroom. Having so much fun! lol! We are suppose to wake up to a bit of snow in the morning. Would love just a little. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
