St. Patrick's Day Tea for Tea Time Tuesday

Hills as green as emeralds
Cover the countryside
Lakes as blue as sapphires –
And Ireland's special pride
And rivers that shine like silver
Make Ireland look so fair –
But the friendliness of her people
Is the richest treasure there.

Hello dear friends and welcome to my St. Patrick's Day Tea! Do you have some green to share today? I would love to come by and see it!

The wee folk and I are so happy you have stopped by for tea today! Breena has settled upon a leaf to enjoy tea time with us.

Shamrocks are scarce on the Island this time of year so I will have to make do with what I have. My cupboards are bare too as far as shamrock teacups go but I do have a wee bit of green to share with you so please come in and make yourself at home.

May you always have walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain, tea beside the fire,

Laughter to cheer you, those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire.~ Irish Blessing

I have used some green toile on my tea table today. The sun is shining in and making pictures hard to take but I so love sunny days!

We will start off with some Irish Breakfast Tea.

I also have Stash Green Chai and Four O'Clock Green Chai for your pleasure.

Do You Know Why Green Tea Is Good For You?
Drinking green tea is very beneficial to your overall health.
The main health beneficial ingredient in green tea is catechin polyphenol, of which the epigallocatechin gallate variety or EGCG is the most abundant. EGCG is quite a powerful antioxidant that slows down the growth of cancer cells. It also has the effect of killing cancer cells without doing harm to the healthy tissue surrounding them. EGCG has also been shown to lower LDL cholesterol levels, and reduce the formation of blood clots. Since blood clots are some of the most common causes of heart attacks and stroke, this green tea benefit is all the more important.

I am using my favourite Skye McGhie teacup today, Chantilly Lace....

....and my green teapot.

My only green teacup is also on the table.

I have some mini chocolate cupcakes with piped on green frosting and some teensey shamrock sprinkles. They are delish!

Which teacup would you like to sip your tea from?

May the friendships you make,
Be those which endure,
And all of your grey clouds
Be small ones for sure.
And trusting in Him
To Whom we all pray,
May a song fill your heart,
Every step of the way.~ Irish Blessing

Next week please help me Celebrate ~ The Splendor of the Season ~ Spring Tea. I do hope you will all join me.

Let's bring out our loveliest springtime tea things and perhaps some birds or bunnies, anything which says springtime to you.

My Spring Tea button is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar. Hope to see you all here next week!

May joy and peace surround you,
Contentment latch your door,
And happiness be with you now,
And bless you evermore. ~ An Irish Blessing

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I am delighted you have stopped by for a visit as your presence always make my tea party that much more special! Do you have a favourite teacup/teapot or mug that you would like to share with us today? I would love to see it and I'm sure others would too!
If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too:
Hot apple cider
Hot chocolate
Lemonade
Iced tea or iced coffee
Punch in a beautiful bowl.
No alcoholic beverages please.

The Tea Time Tuesday button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! To be sure everyone has a visit, it would be nice if you visited the participant before and after your name.

  1. Dear Sandi,
I wish you a Happy St. Patricks Day, although it is too early yet. But you have set a beautiful tea time for this event. If I am allowed to chose, I would use the green tea cup. It is so sweet and very special because its handpainted. I love the charming poems. You always share true delight full of meaning. Thank you for hosting this wonderful event.
Best greetings and Luck too you,

  11. What sweet mini cupcakes. Like your green cup. Nice to see how St. Patrick is celebrated with various things in the green with fairies and green clover. Sweden does not have this tradition. Maybe should I start? I wish you a great week! Zinnia

  16. Hi Sandi, What a wonderful post; I've been working on gathering my Irish pieces to and will post later in the week but I don't have any Irish teapots-might be a good thing to ask for for my upcoming b.d. I'm all Irish and love to celebrate it big. I also love your blessings-they are some I haven't read before so I may have to research some new ones. I'm wondering if you are Irish too?
Have a wonderful week. Thanks for sharing this with us.
