The other day, I delivered a birthday present to a good friend of mine and she blessed me with something back. Don't you just love surprises like that?
She is one of those gals that goes garage sale hunting every weekend and on one of her sprees she found this little gem and thought of me. Wasn't that thoughtful of her?
This lovely piece looks and feels like Jasperware/Wedgwood but there is no mark on the bottom. So, I would assume someone had painstakingly made it. A very lovely job someone made of it too, and it's pink!
Regardless of a mark or not, I have a very thoughtful friend!
The Grecian figures are raised as is the leaf motif around the edge of the top.
There is also a thin band all the way around near the base.
Not sure what I will do with it. I may make it into a topiary. The base would be pretty for a topiary, don't you think? What would you do with it? Any ideas?
Sharing from my heart~ Sandi
Pretty little vase/bowl. It will love hanging out with all your pinks.

That is a lovely little vase. My first thought was Wedgwood but then it would have the name on the bottom. Happy pink Saturday
ReplyDeleteMarking are not important. It is the thought that counts.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore Pink Saturday. What fun it is to browse through all of the posts. Your vase is stunning!
ReplyDeleteHow thoughtful ! I think a topiary would be lovely ... I have some pretty planters I use on my dresser to hold hairbrush, mirror etc. You could use it to hold silverware as well.

It reminds me of a very decorative planting pot. Of course, it's much too pretty and pink (smiles) to put planting soil in. As creative as you are, I'm sure you will find a good use for it. :)
