Hello friends~ I am joining Cindy at 'A Romantic Home'- for my very first "Show and Tell Friday!" Please click on her link to visit her and all of her participants- http://romantichome.blogspot.com/
It has been a while since I did these, but I stopped by Tales of An OC Cottage- http://talesfromanoccottage.blogspot.com/ the other day and M was sharing her darling little birdies that she had done over, which inspired me to share mine!
Last summer, I had gone into the Dollar store and bought several of the little birdies they had. I found a number of these but only one Blue Jay was left. The Blue Jay was a very bright blue with a white breast and I'm sorry I didn't take a before picture, but I'm sure you can picture what he had looked like. He actually didn't look too bad in his former attire but since I like white, he got transformed.
These little ones, on the other hand, are a very gaudy shade. So, they each got a coat of white paint. I have birds all over my home and I have also given some away. If you know anything about me, I love little birdies, and I'm looking forward to having the songbirds back!
My birdies are not all blinged up like M's, but this one is thinking seriously about making her nest with a string of pearls in a chintz dish!Thank you Cindy for hosting and thank you everyone for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Sharing from my heart~ Sandi

Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI love the make over your little featered friends got-they look great painted white.
I think spring is in the air don't you? I am hopeful anyway.
Take care,
Carolyn
They look so fresh painted white!
ReplyDeleteThe lil' one that's nesting in the pearls might lay a diamond. Keep your eye out.
I like the fresh look of the white birds! I have some that are from Goebel in West Germany. I just have to look in the princess (Dot's name for the guestroom) bedroom to find them. It's so full of clean laundry and "stuff" that needs to be put away, it will take all of spring break to get it organized. I love to stay home on my breaks from school and work in the house and yard, so I'm not dreading the cleaning too much. Thanks for sharing and coming by to visit me and joining in to follow! ♥♪
ReplyDeleteOh, just love the white birdies.....especially when perched in the chinz plate!
ReplyDeleteOH! Those birdies are so much cuter than mine! I love that shape!!! (mine are frowning...ewwww...I just noticed that!)

ReplyDeleteHi Sandi..
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your first Show and Tell Friday. The cardinals reminds me of my Dad, these birds would come each morning to my Dad's kitchen door and wait for him to feed them.

That was clever and creative!
ReplyDeleteI think your little white birdies are adorable. I am finding I am beginning to get quite a collection of birdies myself!!
ReplyDeleteLove your birdies! Brilliant idea to spray paint them. I have just lately become completely obsessed with Lefton bluebirds. I'm on a quest now! :)Nancy
ReplyDeleteHi Sweet Sandi, your birdie transformation is fabulous. I also seen m ^..^ birdie transformation and I was going to do the birdies I have but got side tracked, because of your post you've reinspired me to do mine. Thank you!

Hi Sandi.....Such cuties! Love the pearl nest idea!~Patti
ReplyDeleteI LOVE BIRDS & yours are so cute. Have a great weekend. Charlene
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi - so funny! Our $$ store had some birdies like your second two - except they were already a neutral color. I pondered over getting them (those dollar decisions are the hardest) but, not to worry, they sold out before I could get any.
ReplyDeleteI love yours and glad you don't have such problems making dollar decisions.
Delightful blog!
So glad I found your blog...it's lovely, especially your banner! Can't wait to catch up!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sandi, I am so glad you came by. I saw your blog once before and was intrigued. Now, I will follow! I love PIE and Anne (with an E)! Your romantic style is awesome! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for painting them. I like them much better now, especially with the pearls and chintz. You have such pretty taste. I'm following you now so I can drool over your stuff.
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet little birds! Just darling!
